Why oh why.

I have custom built my own PC about 4 times (3 different rigs). The family know that I know a thing or 3 about PC's, but why is it anytime ANYONE they know mentions a problem with a PC, I am the one told and told to fix it, 90% of the time I dont want to, or have any intention to, and you can't charge family can you?

Fed up of it tbh, wish I never got into PC's because of that.

There was a t-shirt on a site i found that said

"No i wont fix your computer"

Found it quite amusing. Perhaps it would be worth it for you :P

A few hours of your life for your family? Those demanding barstewards!

They phone me up, saying there PC is getting slower by the minute and the hard drive is noisy.

My uncle, who knows jack **** about PC's talks so much **** I just feel like saying fix it your bloody self then. GRrrrr

Has he never done anything for you? Never helped you? Took you anywhere? etc..

It annoys me when they start ringing you up when your in work

Only immediate family I do for free, anyone else is chargeable

lol I have a mother who browses the internet and still had problems on using a laptop. She types long sentences into an search engine and wonders why no results appear lol.

Yes, he gives me the ride home from the pub....for £6...he has the cheek to charge, yet I'm expected to fix his PC for free, for the umpteenth time and yet another day off wasted. He dropped 2 grubby old machines off at my house to change a HDD. **** take.

And yeah, I've had a beer or 4.

If you don't put your foot down now your going to get the water taking out of you.

If it happenes again either say no charge.

"have you tried turning it off and on again?"

"Your going to tell me to turn it off and on again arnt you? yeh because thats what you IT people are like, well ok if you insist...............oh its working now"

EDIT: LOL! Beaten

Help is a two way thing.
I have helped my mate with his pc many a time and tonight I borked flashing my graphics card bios.
I phoned him up and asked to loan his card so I could reflash my card.
Within half an hour I had a graphics card.
So maybe one day you will need a favour.
