5.1 Speakers not working properly?

Hey,
No matter what I do, I can't get the side and center speaker on my X-530s working.
Nothing's wrong with the speakers themselves, tried each input with an MP3 player, all's working well. If I test the speakers in the configuration panel they work fine. But no matter what I do, I can't get the speakers working under normal use. Music, gaming, nothing works.
Any ideas?

Oh forgot to add, using an X-Fi Xtreme Gamer. Tried reinstalling drivers, no dice.

Guessing you've tried the simple stuff like making sure your programs are all setup to export in 5.1?

In all honesty it's some odd speakers not to be working, rear ones would normally be as a result of the issue above...

I can't get the rear to work on iTunes, because it struggles to export anything beyond 2.1, but I got COD set up on 5.1, so yeah, if the cofig panel says they're working, then must be application related...

Sorry they are the rear speakers, but I've always had them at sides since I don't have stands

Almost all my music and games seemed to work in 5.1, now nothing does. How do you set the export thingie? I have it set to 5.1 in the manager if that's what you mean

Some applications have individual settings for speaker output, another possible cause could be the way you have your codecs setup, or perhaps a separate audio filter is set to 2 speaker mode.

Of course it could be something else entirely. Forgive me, but are you sure you have all the wires properly inserted in the right sockets?
