Just had a letter letting me know that due to the cold weather the cost of their gas and electric is going up, fair enough but they have decided to not tell me in the normal % amount oh no that would be too easy. They have given me a sheet with the new price per unit and annual threshold amount etc but not with the figures for the their current amounts!

HENCE I DON't KNOW how much its go up !

Sorry If I am ranting but they are thieving a*holes anyway and this just stinks!

i nearly passed out and died when i got my gas bill this month,, as its trippled :S

Why don't you check you're last bill? The old unit price will be on there.

I doubt I kept it to honest but I might have a look for it, I was just enraged is that hard to print current prices so you can see how much its gone up they normal say it going up 10% or 12% or whatever so I am guessing its a big hike that's why they are trying to hide it like this.

elec : 1st rate 7.26p/kWhr threshold 2680 Kwh
: 2nd rate 3.158p/kWhr

gas : 1st rate 23.205p/kWhr threshold 900kWh
: 2nd rate 11.729p/kWhr

It's 9% electricity and 3% gas. Not using your figures, but they are the percentage increases they announced.

I've had the same letter and my before and after are on the back of the letter

Why not just say that then? That was my whole issue as then I can think to myself that my bills will be 9% and 3% more expensive rather than having some arbitrary figures that mean nothing to me.

Perhaps instead of coming here and ranting, you could have spent two seconds performing a search and found the details you were after on their website? :confused:

Reminder to take a note of the meter reading every time you're billed so this kind of thing isn't a nasty surprise

Oh thanks I had visited their site but couldn't see that.

How is sending you a letter hiding the information??

The fact that you've apparently discarded the rest of the information (the bill) is none of their concern.

Life isn't always easy, deal with it.
