About once every 7-10 days I get a blue screen with white writing and windows closes down:mad: the screen isnt on for more than a few secs so I cant see what it says apart from its found a fault and is closing down.

I start up again and all is fine- until the next time - any ideas what fault it is finding or how do I find and fix the fault please?
I did a disc check and it was ok. On Win 7 pro 64 bit with 6 gigs Ram, Win Core i7 930 @2.80

thanks for any help

Have a look in the Event viewer (type event in the search/run box) look for errors that occurred right at the point of BSOD and post back. Might yield some clues

next time it crashes, unplug it from the mains and stick you hard on the cpu H/s and the video card if you get burnt it over heated....

might be worth backing up personal data and trying a full reinstallation of windows.

components could also be overheating inside. If this is a desktop, there could be a build up of dust inside - use antistati compressed air to clear out.

running memory test is a good idea (agree wth philtorrens). could run memtest or the windows memory diagnostic tool.
