Could overclockers do this for me?

You must be worried about something but I won't insult you and ask if you can use a screwdriver!

Truth is, computer hardware is far more robust these days - with special coating over solder joints etc... only time I use an anti-static wrist band is when working on other peoples equipment, simply for good measure.

I second the above posts. Try it and just post back on this thread if you get stuck. Like one thing you might wonder is what happens if you don't use the rubber washers ? well those silver dots around the screw placeholders are there to ground the screws so that you don't need the washers!

To be honest it's pretty idiot proof. Think of it as a shape sorter for adults...

i had my first go at installing a cpu, thermal paste n heatsink 2days ago
its not as scary as you might think just be sure to take your time with it n read all instalation guides that come with your hardware just to be sure your doing it right

id suggest doing it yourself 1 youll save money, 2 youll learn something new youll use for the rest of ur life maybe n 3 youll be proud of yourself n ur machine when its all done n finished :)

but it is fairly idiot proof, i mean i managed to do it :D

Honestly I see no point in paying someone to put it together and in a case for you. It's extremely simple.
Especially the RAM! Takes 5 seconds!

Update

We can actually.

We offer it in certain circumstances but there is a charge as a technican will have to build the system up for you.

Well I have just rang and asked told them my situation and they said they couldn't do it. I said to them it shouldn't be to much trouble for you to just stick it in a case for me if I pay a bit extra, they said they have no way of actioning that sort of transaction through. So looks like I'm on my own!

Have you seen the size of the cooler though guys? I mean, how on earth am I gonna fit that on! I do wanna do it but it just looks so complicated, yes I can install ram, Gfx cards and PSUS who can't but when it comes to motherboards, processors and and coolers its a whole other ball game. I just don't think I have the know-how or dexerity to be able to put something like that togeather from scratch

theres nothing much really to it, i was scared about installing cpu's/heatsinks/thermal paste

then i actualy did it n i have to say i dont know what i was scared about

there isnt really much know how to it.. if it needs forcing in, its in the wrong hole ;)

plus youll get a ton of manuals/installation guides with ur gear, spend ur time reading it making sure you understand how it fits then take your time doing it :)

as always if you still need help while ur installing just make a post on here im sure someone would be able to help somehow...

Its easy mate

I would offer you on my friends teamspeak 3 server and he and myself would talk you through it, he helped me build my 1st PC and talked me through everything and since then i aint looked back and can now build PCs from scratch on my own without hardly looking at the manual.

Its a bit like riding a bike :p

I may take you up on that offer! I am gonna purchase it, because I did mess up with my current computer. AMD 6 Core (Really not that good for games) 2 x 580s (using SLI patch but isn't stable and doesn't work 100%) Using Intel designed DDR3 ram which I am sure when used with an Intel CPU I'd get the most speed!

I think if I go intel, and get one of these intel extremes I should be set for at least a few years! So it will be money well spent, its just about making sure it all goes well... If I do go wrong, theres a lot of money at stake here

Find a forum member local to yourself with a thread like 'Anyone in or close to XXXX' , and see if anyone would be willing to help you.

Well the hardest part is doing it the first time I was lucky a friend showed me the first time I built a pc and ive been doing my own ever since. Ive even done a couple for other friends now too its just confidence and taking your time the first time go slow to get it right. usualy the coolers come with fitting instructions so that shouldnt be a problem. You did the right thing asking on here though theres some amazing people on here willing to help if you are stuck or have any questions.

I asked about them building something up for me before, i think it'll work out something like 10% of the purchase price so if your spending £1400 then they will probably charge £140.

They would do it for you, but they WILL charge you and it will cost a fortune!
My mate works for a local shop (installing small business networks etc) and they charge a fortune for fitting things
£5 to fit a DVD drive for example !!!!!
£10 to install a HDD
A license to print money lol

I bit the bullet and went for it guys! I feel comfortable knowing that theres so many great people on these here forums who would be willing to help me out if I do get into a mess. So thanks in advance!

I hope your right, I ordered the bundle, Im using my old case just gonna swap out the motherboard! I thought if the bundle is alreayd overclocked, the processor should be already fixed in there! Would I need to reapply the thermal paste when I do get it? Do i need to put thermal paste on the big cooler im getting? Sorry, im actually really thretting about it! 1.4k and could just be threw down the toilet if i get it wrong : (

not sure if it was arctic cooling website or another but there are guides out there about how to apply thermal paste, i would do a search for them and read as many as possible so your comfy doing it.
