UFO or Chinese lantern? 3 Different people, 3 videos.

Yeeeeeees.

UFO means unidentified flying object... If I throw a frisbee in the air and you have no idea what it is then it's a UFO. If I throw a coffee mug in the air and you have no idea what it is then it's a UFO. I someone releases a Chinese Lantern and you have no idea what it is then it's... a UFO.

really?

Cause I'd have thought the definition was more strict than that if it's come for more "official" places ie being a certain size, being powered in some way etc

rather than a bag in the wind.

Actually I was confused by the response to what I'd class as a side note on the subject of Chinese laterns. It had nothign to do with the UFO subject you see. Sorry for causing the confusion.

I don't see how it's any different. If you took a photo of a bag in the wind and no-one could identify it, it would still be a UFO.

I identified that coffee mug after it hit me in the face. Does that count?

At that point you identified it, so it then became an FO, which is - incidentally - what you told me to do, for having thrown a mug in your face.

You can see its movement in relation to the other light. You would know this if you had actually watched the part I was talking about.

I watched it many times.

The fact remains the frame rate of the camera, the poor lighting conditions, the shakey nature of the footage all point to such a movement being impossible to judge accurately.

Now, I beleive in alien life as much as anyone else, I also believe in the phenomenon of UFOs and that there is much we have yet to learn about them. HOWEVER, shakey footage of Chinese Lanterns lobbed around the web as UFOs only diminish the chances of proper footage being taken seriously by anyone other than jumpy nutjobs.
