Basically I sold a phone a while ago which got damaged in the post even though I did pack it up well. The guy took a picture and sent it to me so I accepted. I gave him a full refund

I didn't bother with feedback until he left me one, now he has left me negative feedback I only have the option of leaving him positive ?

Seeing as I offered a refund surely this does not deserve the bad feedback, its effected my clean ebay score. Is there anyway I can get this removed? I did reply to his feedback, however I am annoyed about the score especially as I plan to sell my car on there soon

You can request it is revised by the person leaving it.

You can also leave follow up feedback. What you leave as a reply says far more than the feedback itself. There are guidelines, you can ask eBay to review the feedback, and may get it removed. Give them a ring.

Meh, wouldn't worry about it. It'll drop off your rating in 6 months or so anyway. Its not worth the hassle.

Well the feedback he left me was

"damaged item but refunded"

My reply was "I gave you a full refund for the item, I also did not ask for it to be returned" (As it was clearly damaged in transit)

This was done promptly

When this happens to my wife on ebay they always remove it when she can prove she's dealt with the issue fairly, you shouldn't have any problem. She always keeps any communications as proof though.

you could always visit his guestbook page and leave him a note of your own for other ppl to see that click into his world... short of that, i'm stumped.

They cant remove it as its "up to the buyers discretion if they were satisfied or dissatisfied with the service"

They can, but probably will not. It all depends who is on the other end of the phone, and how they feel. Also depends what and how it is phrased.

If you've replied to the feedback and have a lot of positive (i.e. 50+) I don't think selling a car will be a problem. As you probably won't send it via royal mail...

Aslong as it dont effect the sale of the care I couldnt care less, infact I am now thinking of ditching ebay for the rip off fee's iv had lately.

I've been using eBay for the last 6 years and it's only gotten worse if you're a seller. Sellers are basically at the mercy of the buyer now, why they removed leaving negative feedback is beyond me.

to be fair if they pay up then what can they do thats bad ?

and if they dont pay up no one gets feedback and they get a non paying bidder strike

The feedback system is supposed to work both ways and as a service. Item was unfortunately damaged on transit, I acted accordingly, offered a full refund and said "just bin the item"

How is that negative?

Negative would have been if I had said "oh well" or atleast "well ill give you your money back but you would have to ship the item back to me"
