Goldring Headphones. You're Opinions?

DR150 + DG + Speedlink mic seems like an excellent bundle offer if I'm honest. If you could find some funky device to effectively clip the mic to and from the 'phones cable too (to save having to use a cable tie which is common here) and add that I'm sure more than a handful of people here will love you eternally ;)

If you stock the NS1000s it might be an idea to stock the FiiO e5s too.

Essence ST or STX + NS1000 bundle?

NS1000s are my main single player gaming headphones but it is awkward hearing yourself speak for multiplayer.

I think this thread says enough. I think I'll be stocking a few pairs of Gold ring headphones again. We did have them once before but it seems they were canned off. :) Im more clue'd up what people think and it might be a good option to go for. Do some of you still use them for gaming? List the top 3 Gold Ring headphones please :)

Good news indeed! I have a mate who is going to buy the DR150 & speedlink mic, if you stock it, the order is yours!

I was lucky enough to get my DR50's for £19 :D best £19 i ever spent.

I also think the 'gamers' bundle would be great. I personally bough my xonar d1 from here and have the dr50's and the speedlink mic :D

Re. mic & cable - I have suggested the cable tie a few times and was thinking about this at the weekend about a more attractice 'sleve' and was looking around to see what I could find.

I found cable tidy's (plastic wrap around ones) but also cable braid sleeving look a good idea. Maybe black braided sleeving about 4mm should be good and would hide the cable and mic in one?

... just a thought :)

Re. mic. and cable, would these be any use instead of normal cable ties, I can't help but think heat shrink tubing would be the best solution, of course you could always resort to electrical tape.

Found the source of the vibrations in my DR150s, excessive amounts of my hair pushed through the filters and sitting on the speakers, cleaned them out (damn what a fiddly job) and all is smooth again :)

I might have to try this, I get the same thing from time to time.

Is the bass any better on the Goldring NS1000 compared to the Sennheiser HD 595?

I sold my HD 595's (had them 2 1/2 years) for £100 inc P&P on Ebay, so looking to try something different if not better.

Guys, what's the recommended burn time for these? I'm using Burninwave generator 0.9, pink noise. How long should i do it for, and should i use any other noise?

I see very little point in burning in with pink noise, unless you absolutely cannot stand the sound of the headphones when new. If the sound of new headphones is going to change, I'd prefer to hear it as it does.

Can only speak about the DR150s which happen to be the pair I've kept after selling my Beyerdynamic DT770s and JVC HA-RX 700s. Just something about the Goldrings brings the music alive :)

The DR150s seemed a bit harsh at first (I think anyway, I forget which is which now) so I can understand people wanting to burn them in, although in all fairness most headphones are usable out the box. I usually give it 100 hours as well, but I don't think there is any hard and fast rule really.

I just received my replacment pair of ns1000's from "The Jersey Company" and I don't seem to have any problems thus far; no creaks, clicks or weird distortions to report here. I could swear that the highs are clearer with this pair than my last pair as well, although that may just be my imagination.
Just an after thought, has anyone else noticed the hiss when the ANR is turned on being slightly louder in the left ear (the one with the switch on it) than in the right ear?
