Well OK, I am not, but I like Dinosaurs, always have done and always will so have some dino news :D

SienceDaily reports that a new member of the family h as been discovered, the article starts:

Triceratops and Torosaurus have long been considered the kings of the horned dinosaurs. But a new discovery traces the giants' family tree further back in time, when a newly discovered species appears to have reigned long before its more well-known descendants, making it the earliest known member of its family.

The new species, called Titanoceratops after the Greek myth of the Titans, rivaled Triceratops in size, with an estimated weight of nearly 15,000 pounds and a massive eight-foot-long....................skull.

Full article here.

BTW, incoming namechange, Maximum? :P

Looks like it might be long lost daddy. I bet the palaeontologist must be thrilled to the bone.

If I'm correct, "Titanoceratops" is only an interim name. They haven't reached a conclusion as to what it will be called.

EDIT: Meh, seems it will be called that. Bet it was a herbivore. Boring.

Now is this not really just all the triceratops discovered so far were young babys and this is what they are really like in adult form or is their a big enough difference in the skull to make it a different version of triceratops?

That would suggest that all the 'triceratops' found so far just died young without making it to full adulthood, which would be an amazing coincidence. It's not that case. Think of a golden eagle and a lesser spotted eagle. Similar birds but different species.

But to answer your question, the massive frill in the skull, the longer horn and sheer size of the thing suggest it's a different species.

We all see the decendents of the Dino kindgom every day, Most Birds are the long decendents......

Check out the freaky feet on Chickens, Birds of Pray like the Eagle or the Buzzard.....
You can just think that the Birds of pray still hold the hunting skills of the more dangerous Meat eating Dinosaurs..... And Chickens are like the less threatening ones that are the Vegi's that just eat plants and seeds etc......

I saw a program on Ch5 the other week called "The Real Jarassic Park" and on there they had facts on how most Dinosaurs like the famous Velociraptor Raptor (portrad in the movie) was wrong and they would have had fur/feathers rather than just the scaley skin and some dude was trying to Geniticly Modify a Chicken Embreo to give it a longer tail by adding vertibra and he did it and the image of the shape in the very early stages inside the egg displayed an almost like for like figure/shape of a full grown Velociraptor Raptor Fosil..... It was very interesting and they said in time they may be able to engineer DNA from todays birds to link them to certain breads of Dinosaurs and one day make the Movie a fact.....

Sorry for the spellings etc.....

Ok Todays lesson is over...LOL

So still quite threatening but not as much as say a Velocirapotor? :D

Ha Ha.... Yea maybe i should have put it like

"And Chickens are like the less threatening Decendents"

Mind you have you every seen a Pi**ed off Chicken they can pack a painful peck..... Drawn blood on me a few times but that's maybe due to me trying to reinact the since from RockyII

Mickey: Why do you have to wear that stinkin' sweatsuit?
Rocky Balboa: It brings me luck, you know?
Mickey: Brings you luck! I'll tell you what it brings, it brings flies! Now here's what I want you to do... I want you to chase this little chicken.
Rocky Balboa: Hey yo, Mick, what do I got to chase a chicken for?
Mickey: First, because I said so. And second, is because chicken-chasing is how we used to train back in the old days. If you can catch this thing, you can catch greased lighting.
Rocky Balboa: Well, I'll do it if you say so, but it ain't very mature.
Mickey: Yeah, well neither are you very mature!

LOL
