To think us oldskoolers used to put up with this!

I loved spectrum loading games sounds very cool and retro. Tho i didnt used to like some of the really long load times on some of them.

Ah, I love the first three beeps. Being a CPC 464 owner it brings back a lot of memories. :D

Though seeing the dreaded Read Error B come up while loading your favourite game was the stuff of nightmares.

I was always terribly envious of the 128k owners, especially when it come to multi load games! :(

Sorry i had to

Oh dear, there was ropey stuff in that vid, it made me a little sad. Where was Laser Squad, The Bards Tale, Pro BMX Simulator, Mercenary, Total Eclipse and all the flight sims?

Nostalgia is misplaced in this instance I feel. One of the best things about going from Speccy to Amiga for me was the absence of ridiculous loading times and frequent crashing.

I remember when my tape deck broke on the spekky, so i rigged it up to the music center. Worked a treat and i was over the moon as it was a new game at the time.

I had a seperate tape deck for my 6128 and each game would only load when the deck was on a specific volume.

The only the way to find out the correct volume was trial and error and lots of loading to crash screens. :p

Did anyone remember entering cheats though?, sometimes having to enter about a page worth of lines and then saving them to a seperate tape :D
