hi,

when i get a text i open it up and the keyboard automatically pops up.

is there anyway to make the keyboard disappear without exiting the text and then going back in?

i find it a bit annoying....

thx

yeah but then its in edit mode....

i know its not much of an issue but just seems like i should be able to touch the message / empty space and the keyboard disappears...

I thought that too when I got my iPhone but it doesn't work like that. It's annoying.

Its not just that, its when i am typing a long reply, to a point where it takes up the room on the screen so you can't see the incoming text anymore. But my text hasn't finished and I want to see what the incoming text was (there might be a couple of questions in there), i find that i can't scroll up, i have to click EDIT.

It needs a drop down keyboard button like in the iPad.

I'm failing to see the issue with using the edit button to quickly remove the keyboard and the text that is being typed?

I do it regularly and i've never accidentally deleted a text.

You still need an action or button of some kind to do what you lot are asking so what benefit does having another button on an already cramped screen give you?

it doesn't need another button. just touch the empty space between texts....

simple.

However we shouldn't complain too much, I'm sure it will be helping to develop our memories :)

The option exists to save the number

Also, you do know how to copy and paste?

I cant find anything to save a number option..and where the number is displayed in teh message homescreen and within th emessage you cannot use copy and paste.

i have a text on mine from unknown number and am looking at the button at the top saying "add contact"

just press that.

You need to scroll to the top of the message..

If you're writing a long enough message, there is no empty space. The input field and keyboard takes up the entire screen. But you can always press the edit button, which works perfectly.

3 ways to do this:

1) Use edit button method.
2) Press and hold on empty space (works besides or between messages, and can be used while typing a new msg.
3) Click messages then go back in.

Easy.
