Recommend hotels in Rome - v central to tourist stuff!

It's only about 15-20 euro's each without tour if I remember.

I will be there on the 24th of April which is last Sunday of the month... so might just go for free.

Think I will look at slightly better hotels also. See if I can find somewhere I'm happy with.

It is, but the audio guide machine thing cost about 15 euros or something, so for a tiny bit more you get someone who can answer any questions you have, and you skip the queues!

Thank you for the info.

I've heard you have to leave ID with the desk for the audio guides?

Last time I went I just looked about and I must admit a lot of what is in there went straight over my head.

Think I have found a hotel I am happy with. Not quite as nice as the one you pointed out Raymond but it is working out at £250 cheaper for my 4 night stay. :)

You do, we had the audio guides at the colosseum, left my driving licence at the desk.

If you don't have the guides or a tour, the rooms will be meaningless to you (unless you have a degree in the Roman Catholic Church or something), which is a shame. I mean you gone all the way there, what's the extra £20 the the tour?

Yeah, I had a guide in the Colosseum, But only 3 of us ended up in there. In the Vatican we were a group of 6 and only a couple of us wanted to pay for guide.

Only the two of us going this time so shouldn't be a problem :)
