Looks nice, can't imagine an 18 year old who wouldn't want a convertable BMW.

Have a look round a 16-18 6th Form or College and find me a car there that will be faster than a 120i, for someone who is just starting the whole car journey thing surely it's going to be quick enough!

Has it got bluetooth? The number of my friends that call & text while driving cause they've not got bluetooth handsfree is amazing - I'd certainly look at maybe getting that added if possible?

No idea, I like the OEM stuff so like I jump into my car and as soon as I turn the car on it links to my phone and it's all done by the car.

Wonder if BMW can retro fit it?

I always found the headsets (always having to charge) or 3rd party stuff (extra piece of kit on your dash) is a bit of hassle.

Either way I'd get something sorted as for someone who phones/texts a lot it'll save taking eyes off the road!

Yea im going to ring them about that tomorrow, thats a good suggestion, well done.

If she drives into things at the best of times do you really want her using the phone while she drives?

No, but i know what kids are like better blue smurf or whatever than talking and driving.

agreed

I'm 28 and back when i was at sixth form we were all doing it even though we knew it was daft.

Don't think BMW can retrofit it, might be best looking at a parrot kit or similar. Look around on the BMW forums, somebody is bound to be able to make a suggestion for a suitable kit.

What one would you buy, i trust you, i want to do that before she gets it.

I've just had a Parrot MKi 9000 fitted and what a great bit of kit

Bluetooth phone
Bluetooth music to the radio
IPOD connector
USB port
3.5mm jack
Voice control

The 9100 has a little screen but with my DHD on the dash I didn't need one, phone book through the controller

I paid £159 fitted :)

i've heard good things about parrot too, but i don't know if theres a more BMW specific solution thats better ?

Heck if you fancy using a screwdriver you could probably retrofit the original BMW one yourself, even though BMW won't do it for you. You could still buy the parts and fit them.

When you say expensive Fox, what is expensive?

Also let me get this right macca, with that Parrot thing, she gets in the car, it picks up her phone and thats it job done?

A huge amount, easily over £500.

Sod that if the Parrot does the same for 170, apart from it not being all built in is it as good?
