Been holding out on upgrading from 775 for ages, but with the latest 2011 cpu's it seems performance % increase is enough for me warrant a change.

Have already decided on i7 2600k cpu, simply require some advice/opinions on what Motherboard & 8gb Memory bundle to pair with it for overclocking. Parts need to fall within £525.00 budget and so far I've come up with >

2x4gb might cost a tad more, but I'd rather go the route of 2x4gb over 4x2gb, iirc it should help with overclocking stability? :)

I'd wait a while until more info is available on the chipset's before ordering 1155

E: Well, I am waiting myself anyway

Build was on hold until replacement Rev B3 boards rolled out minus price gouging. So finally decided on this lot >

Purchased two of these items elsewhere saving about £50.00, parts arrive in couple of days. After selling my old mobo/ram/cpu this tidy upgrade has only cost £60.00, I'm shocked by just how much people will still pay for 2nd hand socket 775 equip.

Hopefully a good motherboard choice as I intended a sizable CPU overclock.

Bit late, but I'll reply anyhow >

P45 DQ6 mobo = £80.00
8GB OCZ Blade Series = £90.00 per 4GB
Q9650 CPU = £180.00

Sold Total = £440.00

New Build Total = £502.00 Inc Del

Well pleased with that result :)
