What does your video have to do with what I said?

Again, it isn't human nature.

It isn't natural.

No little youtube education lesson you try to give me is going to change this fact.
Well apparantly people who hold my views are cowards (according to you), just posting a clip of someone who was definitely not a coward, talking about believing in the same things I believe in. I'm sure Ali gave guest lectures in philosophy at Oxford as well.

I think it's nice to see a couple who are in love getting married.

Although I suspect i'd be a bit uncomfortable if my (theoretical) daughter married him, but then I suspect I'd be uncomfortable with whoever my (theoretical) daughter married ;)
However I'd prefer my daughter to marry whoever she was happy with.

You're letting your prejudices show, again.

Mohammed Ali in those videos is spot on, and he is a great man whom I have total respect for.

I think what people are afraid to admit (even to themselves) is that their white daughter marrying someone of an entirely different race/culture/religion is at the very least, uncomfortable, and arguably wrong.

He's more than likely a better man than you'll ever be, better husband, son and father than you could ever imagine.

Amazing how you think this is damaging culture. What about from his perspective. White Caucasian marrying into a devout religious family in India, also being married in the most Holy place on Earth for Sikhs. Tells me a lot about tolerance!

Just wondering what people here think about this. Would you feel uncomfortable that your daughter had married this man? I know I would.

I personally would feel incredibly uncomfortable if my daughter was marrying that man. But then as she is only five I would be incredibly uncomfortable with her marrying anyone. :D

When the time comes, surely what matters is that she is happy and that he is a decent bloke?

Someone white and from northern or western Europe, not really difficult to work out.

So people from France, Germany, Belgium and even Italy are "indigenous British"? I would like to see you try and explain that one to a Frenchman...

Not sure about the coward part, but the fact he gave guest lectures at Oxford (if true) is pretty irrelevant. I think it was Aristotle who said that flies have 4 legs and that the brain's function is to cool the body. If the greatest thinkers in human history can make such massive ****-ups as that, surely a man who punched people in the face for a living can say some stupid things too?

I've just been reading up on her father, no wonder she wanted to keep it secret, her father is a disaster area, the new husband would be horrified! How embarrassing for the poor girl.

You claim this is human behavour.

That it is natural. As a defence against such blatant nonesense.

I'm telling you that it isn't.

Ali wasn't quite on the same wavelength as you. He also came from a radically different culture from yourself and his perception of the topic was probably fashioned under very different circumstances. He didn't use his backwards beliefs to abuse and victimise others as you and your ilk like too.

I'd be more concerned with her happyness than my own prejudice.

Seriously, i want a response from a mod. This is the forum rule

The original post is clearly racist and offensive.

Why is it allowed?

My response is that most threads involving race and religion descend into farce. It is not a subject that is able to be debated rationally or sensibly. At least not for long.

You raise a valid point though and I see no reason why this thread should stay open. It has descended into said farce.
