(!) Sandy Mobo's (!)

The PRO supports 8x/8x Crossfire, which I'm sure you know what that is xD
The MSI C45 is a budget P67 board.
The Gigabyte UD3 is Gigabytes budget board, and is pretty shocking for the price.

I wouldn't go for the MSI C45. I have and it's terrible at overclocking. It's vcore volts fluctuate a lot so if you cpu is stable 4.6ghz at 1.3Vcore then you'll probably have to end up running it at 1.375vcore just to make sure it doesn't randomly drops volts and BSOD. So in the end limiting your overclock as with another motherboard if you run 1.375 you may achieve 4.9ghz (in my case).

Or you could run it at the higher clock but leave fraps on to make sure it's always 100% on load and not undervolting lol.

Sandy motherboards aren't very impressive with there PCI-E lanes most only support 1 16x and the rest 8x. I think its pretty shocking compared to some budget i7 motherboards like the ASUS P6X58D with dual 16x lanes. Never the less this is just the first set of motherboards for the sandy bridge, give it a few months and some quality budget boards will be released.

The number of PCI-E lanes is determined by the chipset.

No P67 motherboard (current or future) can offer more than 1x16 or 2x8 without the addition of something like an Nvidia NF200 chip.

Tis why I'm waiting for X68? :) Gives me time to save up/sell my kidney.

Thanks for the answers guys!

I might just do that

Ironic having a link giving advice about computers in your sig, but not knowing basics.

raising awareness for my friends site, no need to get stroppy.

why dont you ask your friend?

also do you know a chap called Situation? seen him on MTV a few times.

how about the Intel DP67DE Socket 1155 @ around £87. Has everything you need if a) you don't need/want onboard graphics b) you don't need/want two graphics cards. Added bonus of MicroATX too for that extra flexibility on casing.

Personally I'd wait, I know the issues aren't show stopping at the moment and there are steps in place to sort the issue but if I were buying new, I'd wait till March when the new batches are available.
