Hey all - first off I'm glad to have joined this forum seems like a great place and I'm sure I'll become a regular in time!

I'm currently planning my first build and am looking to get a budget graphics card (£60 or under ideally) which will let me run relatively non-graphically-intensive games and just other general usage.

I'm currently looking at other specs as follows;
Case: Coolermaster Elite 335
PSU: Bequiet pure power 530W
Motherboard: asus P8H67 - m pro
RAM: Kingston 4GB/6GB DDR3 1333
CPU: i5 2500 3.3ghz
Optical Drive: LiteOn 24x DVDRW Sata

I may then upgrade the GC in the future when I have some more funds available, as I think I should be able to get a relatively good performance with the other components. Any suggestions for changes to other components of about the same price range would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all :D

Your best bet is probably a 2nd hand Radeon 4870 or 4850.

If you preferred a NVidia card, 2nd hand ones would be 9800GT or GTS 250.

New cards would be a Radeon 5570 :

or a nvidia gts 430 :

this review below will give you an idea of the performance of the 2 cards above :

Plus it shows other cards of similar performance that some online shops might still have if you trawl through Google.

As mentioned a 4870 1GB would be ideal or if you prefer Nvidia you can get second hand GTX 260s for less than 60 quid. I've even seen a GTX 275 go the other week for £65 on MM.

Great. Thanks a lot for the replies, very helpful! :)

Excuse my ignorance, but I'm not sure what you're referring to by MM?

Thanks again - can't wait to get it all assembled!!

Can't get members market for 3 months/250 posts so suggesting to get one from there is a bit misleading.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Just as an update I ended up getting the 260GTX from an auction site and am very happy with it, coming in at around the £60 mark - perfect for what I wanted!
