Just to bring this back, my uni has had our old event room done up, looks like this now. Will be great for our LANs this year, could be a potential site for OCUK LAN.

Ok, my last post was #460

Baby has been born, work now feels normal again so we are good to rock and get this thing back on the road.

I have been doing things here and there and have been in communication with a venue which I believe can accommodate NEARLY everyone's requirements. I say nearly as it is impossible to please everyone when organising something like this.

I am not in a position to say more at this time as nothing is concrete at the moment and secondly, this place does get over excited sometimes and I need to focus on this at the moment.

Something we need to nail down before I can do much else though are dates.

My initial thoughts are the event will be on the last weekend of a month, thus meaning most will have been paid so one less worry for everyone as people will obviously need money for fuel, food etc.

Now, End of April/May are both bank holiday weekends:
Saturday 30th April to Sunday 1st May (Royal wedding is the 29th)
Saturday 28th May to Sunday 29th May

Now on a positive side, it would give some people who dont work bank holidays an extra day to recuperate. Would a bank holiday weekend cause problems for many?

If it is agreed bank holiday weekend is not ideal, then I suggest the weekend after, so:

Saturday 7th to Sunday 8th May
Saturday 4th to Sunday 5th June

I am reluctant to let this go into June as people will start going on holiday and I don't want anyone to miss out.

My artistic design skills are pap, is there anyone here who has the time to work some magic and make something similiar, but a little more polished?

Will need assistance with other design work in the near future too, such as web/forum graphics etc.

Should update the opening post with details that are fairly certain, like an idea of location as I'd like to sign up but wouldn't want to add to the numbers if I knew I wasn't going to make it that far.
