Would you play a game on 15-30 fps

I play mw2 on 15-30 fps it seems, using fraps as my way to check it.

Funny thing is, I usually have the highest score in any match type that I play in.

I can't wait to get a proper rig, to see how I do.

Anything under 25 is noticably bad for me. Metro 2033 can dip into the high 20's for me at max settings however it is still playable.
 
I would play a game between those framerates, but only if it was slow paced. Sim City stylee or similar...
I could not play an FPS game with that framerate, it would get tedious very quickly.
 
15 - 30 would be ok, however the minimum is more important...

I would expect if your card is banging out an AVERAGE of 15 - 30 then when the action hots up and there is a lot of stuff on the screen it drops way too low for a few seconds making it jump or chop about..

so if the average is actually 15 - 30 with no drops below 15 it would be ok, but its probably at times dropping to 5 but the average is increased when you stand still with nothing in front of you and it bangs out 200fps..

thats my thinking anyway, films look fine at 25 fps...
 
As said it depends on the game, how it runs etc. Generally though when I see a frame rate in the mid and low 20's that's when things normally turn sour. I prefer a consistent 35+ (much higher expected though in reality) in single player and much higher in online fps, 100+ or thereabouts.

So, almost always a 'No' would be the answer to your question.

I demand atleast 20 FPS and anything below 15 is not playable to me but I have a new gaming machine so I wont have the problem of worring about FPS for quite a few years.
 
If you're comfortable playing the game at the frame rate then its more of a matter of perception. Most people are ok with it, some need to have the reassurance that their 1000+ frame rate gives them the best experience ..... its different for everyone, just find whatever works for you.

In most online FPSs you'll find that the internet connection is the part that plays the most important role for the experience.

No matter how good your rig is, if you're dropping packets or getting latency spikes then you will experienced perceived lag.

I myself would want at least 30 ... I usually leave vsync off as well.

15-30 is too low for me.

A stable frame rate of 50 would be better than 120+ with it jumping around all over the place.
 
Depends. In a first person shooter, single player campaign i'd probably put up with dips down to 15-20 (i have in the past at least). I don't mind if i die on the odd occasion due to fluctuating frame rate if it means i get a prettier game experience. Online however, i turn the res and detail down til i can get a consistent 60fps. You can learn to compensate for crappy frame rates, but you'll never be as good as you could be with fluid gameplay. If you're panning across a scene and your frame rate is dipping from 60 down to 15, it breaks the intuitive connection between your mouse movement and cross hair movement. Much harder to move the mouse quickly and precisely to flick to an enemy when the frame rate is all over the place.
 
The issue for me is this:

If you are maxing at 30fps in a game when something big happens its going drop. I like running high fps so I have some breathing room if this happens, all 299fps (tf2/css that is) of them :P.

This allows me to run spotify and all the crap in the back ground I like running.
