Dead Space 2 .

Why on earth would you play on casual..

I'm playing it through once so I can learn the games more difficult scenarios and think of the best ways to deal with them prior to playing on Zealot or Hardcore.

I've heard that the game creates one special checkpoint on hardcore when u start the second disc.

If you can make it through the first disc it sounds like u might be able to die on the 2nd and not have to start again from the beginning of the game.

This game in hardcore has no checkpoints.. So for example say you play through to chapter 6 without saving and then die you will be returned to the start of the game..

Stupid scary game!

Sitting in the dark last night, headphones on with the sound cranked up and I didn't realise the wife had come in the room behind me. I did when she put her hand on my head...:eek::eek:

Tried the power node glitch yet ;)
Seems you can do it much earlier than chapter 14 :D

I might be selling a copy of DS1... Probably stick it on the members market :)

As for ds2... Played 5 mins of it, walking through the cafe at the start and the tv turning on (right hand side) made my other half and I jump out of our skin... Slowly moved onto a save point and turned off...

Bloody impossible to play this game loud with surround sound lol, damn sound system :(

Managed to pick this up on a bit of a cheeky deal while buying my mate a new xbox for his birthday. Got the game for £22 quid by doing so! Currently playing through on zealot on the first go, pretty easy so far with only a few bits that have become frustrating.

Me and a friend are sharing the game at the moment, but we realised you can actually both have a disk each (on the 360), the other one buys the online pass and you can both game online! We were pretty chuffed!

the most frustrating bit in the entire game is close to the end...yes I am looking at you stupid needle thingie!

Yup, I reckon you can power through the entire first disc without needing to save without much hassle.

I'm assuming that when it says no checkpoints, that it means within the chapter you are in... so say if I saved on Ch7, and got to Ch10, and then died, it wouldn't send me back to Ch7, it'd send me back to the start of Ch10...

Yeah?

You go back to your last save I believe. :p

Half way through zealot but I've had enough for now. The ripper had made mincemeat of everything so far. It's great chopping up the squealing brats with it. :D

You go back to your last save I believe. :p

That is harsh :D

Think I might leave that one :o

Almost finished my second run through on Normal, at Ch10 atm, mopping up a fair few achievements on this run through, got a few weapon ones to get, and i'm about 50 limbs away from the 2500 dismemberments :D

Then it's on to Zealot, woo!

Only done the first two chapters but it has all the atmosphere of the first. Still has me checking behind me every 3 seconds with the surround sound.

I'm at the point now on zealot where my carried over ammo has ran out and now I've got barely any ammo at all.

Balls.

I also just realised how difficult hardcore will be as I don't get my upgrades, I forgot I was rocking a fully upgraded suit and stasis...so much extra health. :(

So what is the verdict on the game so far then?

Common issues creeping up yet? I still only have 10 mins play time due to being too scared.

I have the rest of the week from 4pm to play until Saturday. Thing is, I ALWAYS immerse my self into games to the point I am non respondent to anything in the real world. I like playing games that way... However, this bloody game, 10 mins was more than enough for me lol.

So, if you guys say it is brilliant, I will record my self playing it for 15 mins for a laugh.

The ripper is my weapon of choice at the moment. Hit a necromoprh with stasis then just rip it to pieces:D

I've been using the Flame Thrower a lot, it just tears through packs of enemies and stops them getting anywhere near you once you've got it upgraded.
