Upcoming (packaged) VW service - will they use crap oil?

Don't worry you will almost certainly get the right oil because if my 10 yrs of owning and running a VW are anything to go by, they won't be changing the oil! They will tick the box and move on. If they do change it, odds are they will get it wrong.

I would check the oil colour on taking your keys back after the so called 'service.'

VW cars are good, their service is shocking.

Where you went to maybe so, but where i work, if this was to happen then you get the sack straight off. Comparing all the vw service centers to the one you know of is a ridiculous statement !

Stick to the ones outside Birmingham. I wouldn't even have known if Jabba Sport hadn't serviced my car @ 40k miles. At which point they showed me an air filter taken from my car, which in their 25 yrs experience had probably never been replaced since I got the car brand new.

I had been charged for a new air filter 3 times (each service) by 3 different VW dealerships at that point @ £26 a pop (+ labour).

Thats not one service centre, thats 3 separate VW dealerships. Ill leave you to work out the meaning of ridiculous.

EDIT: Don't even get me started on what they did to my wheel nuts...check my F1 autocentre thread.

Well then i can completely see where you are coming from if you are getting charged for replacement of an air filter and not actually getting it replaced then that is wrong.
But are you sure they are not charging you for a pollen filter each time, some refer to it as an air filter due to the fact, air goes through it! (so could easily of been confused as an air filter)
And if you were going by the vw service schedule then the air filter wouldn't of been due till 40k/60k miles so it wouldn't of been changed.

I'm not having a dig, i'm just hopefully advising.

So I'm assuming you went back and complained, right?
