Banned from drinking red bull at work

Today the boss pulled me into the office and told me he will not put up with anyone drinking red bull at work or just before coming to work...

I never heard of being done before....
Is this normal for other work places ?? :confused:

Many times the other workers here come into work half ****sed from the night before and i get told i can drink red bull

Almost everyone at my current job drinks redbull at some point in the day :confused:

How on earth does he intend to prove someone has been drinking Red Bull before they get to work?

I work in my workshop and outside which is no where near his office and not even the same building.

Why drink it anyway? Just get a goods night sleep the night before.

speak to your HR department. My contract specificly states that i'm not allowed to take illegal substances or drink alcohol on the premises.

Presumably if they are going to dismiss you from work they would need similar clarification in your contract as to what is considered acceptable. I highly doubt theres a clause in your contract that says caffeine drinks can't be consumed off premises on your work break.

Where do you work?

It's certainly very odd when you think that the majority of work places provide free tea and coffee and some will have soft drinks which also contain caffeine.

I could see how it might look a little unprofessional to walk into some kind of high powered meeting with a Red Bull, when everyone else is on a coffee or such. I guess it looks a little crass and like you are so worn out that you need to be drinking it.
