Best deal for £15 a month, PAYG.

My son now has a San Francisco same as me and wants some data allowance on PAYG. Phone is unlocked.

Needs to have 600+ texts, 500mb+ data and some free mins... though he doesn't use free minutes much at all.

MUST be on PAYG im afraid as he lives at his Mums and I cant risk getting a huge bill as the phone is not under my control as it were.

Any advice welcomed.

Not sure about the other networks but Orange gives you 600 free texts and 100MB internet for £20 top up a month. You can then use the Magic Numbers for people he calls a lot (if there are any).

Then again, 100MB doesn't get you far.

There are tons of good deals around with texts, data and talk time. Best thing is to phone some networks and ask them. If you're an existing customer they'll generally give you a discount as well.

I get 250MB a month free from Orange as I bought an iPhone from them, and don't even come close to using it. But, then it depends on what the signal is like where you are. I could easily chew through a few GB if I had constant 3G.

When I phoned orange I got offered 300 texts, 100 mins and 500MB for £10 a month I think it was. Might have even been 600 texts, can't remember now.

Look around at the sim only deals.
Might mean you have to get the phone unlocked tho.

£15 on Tmob for example gives you 600m 500txt and a booster, which can be data :)

tied to a 12month contract tho :(

I think orange and o2 do the rolling 30 day ones

Check out giffgaff, current £10 goodybag gives 250mins, unlimited texts and unlimited data. It uses the O2 network, and I think it is wholly owned by O2 as well.

Also, by answering questions on their forum and getting other people onto the network can earn you top-up money.

Thanks for input guys. To recap, phone IS unlocked and must be on PAYG, unless I can cap the bill on a 30 day contract as someone mentioned. I'll go have a look af giffgaff too.

hmm hope i can post this here as they aint really a competitor but if im not ment too im sorry... Mobiles.co.uk they are owned by the carphone warehouse and have some cracking deals got my phone from there and my stepdads. And so far they have paied out all the free line rental.

Hmmm.... giffgaff £15 goodybag looks promising.

600 mins, unlimited data and texts. If it runs on O2 network then coverage should be good too.

If anyone see's any drawback to this plan let me know. It looks the best so far.... without going contract of course.

EDIT: As he doesnt use many minutes the £10 deal is the better one as you say Evilpaul. Nice one!:)

Might move from my 30 day rolling Tesco contract infact, looking at it. Paying £15 a month at the mo, but restricted to 500mb a month. Giffgaff seems to infer a much greater "unlimited" net usage. Handy!

aye the current giffgaff offer looks quite decent tbh.
They do say no tethering allowed from what I read but not a clue how they could tell/enforce it

Extremely easy, all networks have DPI kit that can spot the packet source from a mile away but that doesn't mean they are enforcing it :)

The unlimited data that ends in march is only for those that do not buy a goody bag, or buy a goody bag that does not include data.
If you buy goody bags that include unlimited data, then nothing will change.
