Hi,

I am looking at upgrading my system.

At the moment it has the following specs:

MSI ATI 5850 OC 1GB

G-Skill 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz/PC3-12800 Ripjaw Memory Kit CL7(7-8-7-24) 1.65V

Creative Sound Blaster XI Gamer

Seagate 250Gb SATA 11, Samsung 400GB SATA, Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB

Sony AD-7240S 24x DVD±RW DL & RAM SATA,

I will be upgrading to:

AMD Phenom II X6 Black Edition 1090T 3.2GHz

Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5 890FX

Please can someone advise if I need to upgrade my PSU or will it be okay?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Please can someone advise if the Corsair H50 CPU cooler is compatible with this board below?

Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5 890FX

Many thanks

Hi,

Will my current SATA 2 drives work in the SATA 3 ports on the UD5 motherboard?

Please can someone let me know,

Thanks

Hi, I have HX620 and PC POWER AND COOLING SILENCER 610W- which one you think is better and why? (accept corsair is modular and +10W)
one will go for sale (maybe as spare) or in to my media rig (which I doubt as media Pc stable on 350W PSU)

Thanks

Not a mile. The 610W PC&P is a very good PSU. PC&P have had a very good name for a very long time - longer than Corsair, although I've not heard much about them lately.

I think the 610W Silencer is, if not identical, at least very close to the 620W Corsair. I'm pretty sure they're both Seasonic units.

Saying the Corsair by a mile is completely wrong.

Edit : In fact if I had both I'd use the PC&P. The main difference is the Corsair is modular, but there's not really much of an impact from that, since you're going to have to hide the non-modular aux motherboard power connection anyway, you might as well hide the cables you don't need. You can then sell the Corsair as it'll sell for much more second hand as it's a more recognised product. :)

^^ That's what I expected- no noticeable difference between 2, as to PCP&C- great PSU's- silencers are great.

I use it on antec1200, great PSU , never had problem, but too many wires that I don't use.

will think, but thanks

Hi,
Thanks for your replies,

I assume there will be no difference in speeds if I were to connect SATA 2 hard drives to the SATA 3 ports on the motherboard correct?
