Hi, my parents would like to get online but they are such technophobes and also live in the sticks and have REALLY crap broadband speed.
In fact, its about 500kb so can you even call that broadband?
I suggested they could get a 3G ipad and use that, its just for browsing no downloading or games. Would LOVE to see them pwning noobs on COD though!:D
So, would a iPad be quick enough?
I'm guessing a 1gb per month sim would be ample as well?

Thanks.

Depends on the 3G coverage in the area. Check on the carrier's website for which-ever company you decide to choose.

But yes, it will be fast enough. :) 3G is up to 8Mbps I believe so just depends on coverage.

Yeh Sarge, thats a good idea. I've got o2 and orange sims myself. So will try them with my bog standard phone and see how they compare.
Thanks for the advice guys.
Can't wait to get my iPad now.

Sorry, I meant to say 'my parents' iPad! :p

I've checked out all the providers and T mobile seems the best.
They say that their 3G coverage is 'good'.
Would like to try it out first, wonder if they'll lend me a sim?
