Hello,

I've borrowed my mates car for a couple of days, it's a mk4 golf 2.3 v5, and he asked me if I had some free time, if I could make his driver's seat look a little bit better, the left part of the seat (the back bit on the left, supposed to keep you in the seat in corners) is starting to look worn ( the rest looks like new still), I have tried meguiars leather cleaner and conditioner which did a terrific job on the leather in my Galant ( small damage disappeared to the eye), but it did absolutely nothing on the leather in the Golf, as if I'm smearing some water or whatever.

I guess I'll take a picture during the day to show the problem if you guys need to see the extent of the problem and if it can be fixed with a good conditioner, but I thought the one I had was great but somehow it works better on the leather in my car than on the leather in the golf... What leather conditioners do you guys have good experience with ?

Gliptone conditioner and cleaner has a good reputation, works well and restores the leather smell.

Is it worn or scuffed? Depending on how bad, either Ganesh's suggestion or:

Gliptone scuff master - Worked wonders on a bit of my driver's seat that was wearing the leather quite badly. Hard to notice now unless you focus directly on it.

What colour leather is your mates Golf?

Witor i told you the scuff master was the way forward.

Anyway another vote for liquid leather, and get one of the leather air fresheners too :)

Yep. Did a great job on the corner bit of the bolster Mark, was a good shout :)

Just need you to find me a scuffmaster kit for my Wife. No, not her car, just some product that will stop her scuffing my fekking bumpers atm... :D

Hi Witor, you were going to post a writeup/pics before Xmas regarding using the Scuff Master kit, did I miss it?

Cheers

Get a scuff master from Gliptone in the right colour.

Some cleaner and conditioner from them as well and it will sort that right out.

Absolute +1 on that one.

And aye, never did take updated pics of the bolster. Not enough hours in a day :)
