Just been playing the demo and have to say this game is awesome. The first thing to strike me was the atmosphere, and I don't think the acting is bad either, the dialog is solid.

The graphics are on par with Oblivion I think, but the actual gameplay is light years ahead of it. The combat for example is great, whether your using a mace a bow or a magic staff!

I have only touched the surface too. The creation of spells looks simple yet the spells you can create are awesome. The books I've picked up so far, haven't got tiny text written in an irritating font so it becomes a chore to read them, I've actually read every book I've found so far, which I can't remember doing in any other rpg, online or otherwise(esp not Dragon Age).

Character creation I also find a joy to use, it is perhaps not as in depth as some games, but you can still create different looking avatars, and I didn't mess about for 5 hours doing so.

The story seems interesting so far, with a twist already.

Things like building your own village and doing quests from it, as well as allowing other people online to walk around sounds a bit special too.

I started doing a tutorial quest and followed all the instructions, it was on a path on an island. I saw one of the bad guys looking out to the sea and got behind him and assassinated him. I was curious and looked at the view he was looking at too. It looked pretty special. I thought "hmm I wonder if I could swim across there in this tutorial?" I ran down to the beach. jumped into the sea started swimming towards an island in the distance, while pretty detailed and colourful fish followed, and I was actually getting closer to the island, I wasn't told to turn back or something, like you usually are.

I did turn back, got back to the beach, walked up to path, and my character was very slow moving, it was because his clothes were wet!

This sort of attention to detail I love. I didn't have high hopes for this title, but I'm ordering it after I've finished this post as it looks like it could be a sleeper hit of 2011, completely taken by surprise by this.

This game deserves to be massive, the combat alone is by far better then any rpg I've played, it make Oblivion seems like a spectrum game, and the Witcher like a Commodore 64!

A respected German mag give it 92%, while in the past it give Oblivion for example 91% (bare in mind Oblivion came out years ago), Gamespot I've noticed give it 75%, methinks bank handers to review sites happen, because I'm with the German's on this one so far :)

Anyone else tried the demo? Anyone on here buying it?

edit: I'm using a 360 pad with it

Haven't tried the demo yet, can't check as i'm at work,is it on steam?

I can't see it on Steam, the first one is, but that's not supposed to be very good at all, apparently that is.

I'm getting it from gameplay as I want quick delivery, so hoping to get it friday, can't wait. Never looked forward to a game this much for some time :)

£24.99 btw

EDIT: The first one apperently had a major update which fixed most of the intial release problems, the epic edition is avaiable for GoG.com for $9.99(about £7 I think) and is actually the epic edition with two expansions etc.

It's £13.99 on Steam, so it's a no brainer to go with GoG.com as it has no DRM and is just as good is not better then Steam imo (just doesn't sell new games, just old classics, surprised two worlds epic edition is on there so soon tbh)

Downloading that now, I've went Two Worlds mad!

Just read this in a preview of the game :

"The crafting system is enormous and the spell system is currently being considered by the Guiness Book of World Records for the most player activated spells or abilities in a videogame . . .ever."

:) I love it when games like this come out, unexpected titles that actually turn out to be brilliant(it looks like it so far). Oblivion was the same, I didn't really have high hopes for that, then found myself spending weeks on it!

There's a few user opinions on here regarding the first one, they are biased I suppose I the people who write them seem to be the people who have downloaded it or played it and enjoyed it perhaps, or it might now be that good, I'll soon find out...

Oh, and the site I've pointed to you has some great games on it, if you didn't already know.

Back on topic.

Completely baffled as to why Steam haven't got this online yet...

So what...

CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS!

Been watching a lot of videos for this and can't make my mind up about it. Sometimes I think it looks excellent and has great combat etc. other times I think it looks really clunky with tedious combat.

Hasn't it been out for ages?, although i've played it ages ago and people got into a discussion on this very forum about the developer's lieing about game size/map.

Never completed it, was certainly a nice game but i got a SSD and haven't reinstalled it since

Yeah, it came out in October for Continental Europe and there were some impressions here (including some amazing screenshots!) from a few people who bought digitally.

I got it from a digital download site GamersGate :)

And it still says " OUT NOW ", so buy it from there if you really need to

Loads of us got it last year from gamersgate.

It looks stunning, but besides the nice graphics its probably even worse to play than the first, the UI and inventory screen is just awful and it just feels horrible to play IMO.

(Also i hope you realise the huge island in the middle is for some crappy multiplayer only mode! and nothing to do there single player. They promised some huge game world and showed us this awesome looking map then a few days after playing we noticed theres nothing on the big island)

I'd download the demo if you have a decent internet connection.

Don't know about the size of the map issue, going to look into it...

I don't know the difference between what is getting released tomorrow and the digital download, but I have Steam and GoG.com plus the Microsoft download accounts and won't be opening another as I'll start getting mixed up :)

Maybe this includes some redeemable codes or something... must be something different about it.

I couldn't disagree with you more.

I don't know if you've played Oblivion or not, but compared to that interface it is a revelation. It's a similar type of game too.

Compared to Dragon Age, so far I can only compare the combat as I am only playing the demo and it has superior combat, by far actually.

I am using a 360 pad so perhaps that makes a difference.

Best RPG for sometime, so far... unless it seriously goes downhill from where I'm at. But the combat won't change, the graphics will get better if anything, the magical effects will get better so will the enemies, and I've got the whole creation of spells and villages and god knows what to look forward to. The 5.1 sound is really good too.

I find the atmosphere good aswell.

The core mechanics are there, so I will be surprised if the final game is rubbish.

That respected German mag has got it spot on imo, this games is right up my street in anyway.
