Hi people,

My system specs are as written:

Gigabyte MA770T-UD3 AM3
AMD ATHLON II X3 445 3.5ghz
Gainward GoldenSample 4850 overclocked to 760/1150.
600W cheap but quality PSU.
4GB (2x2) GENERIC RAM 1333Mhz underclocked.

I tried overclocking my CPU but the max i can reach stable is 3.5ghz, I have tried modifying some bios settings but the system wont boot if i overclock it more, so i have to reset the bios when it doesn't boot.

I have included an image to see if you guys can tell me anything i can change to allow me to overclock my system higher.

P.S. my cpu idles at 26 degrees and maxes out at around 34 degrees.

Thanks!!

if that is the max stable speed you can hit i dont see what your question is?
Not all CPU's OC the same just because 1 person get his X3 445 to 4GB dose not mean your will, if 3.5 stable is the best you can get then stick with it.

My phenom II x2 560BE will only go up by 400mhz from 3.3 to 3.84Ghz

But your Vcore could problem go up 2 more notches depending on the CPU cooler, but then again X3's are not good OC CPU's

Nope I suspects its maxed out. My own 445 is the same. However, I found that dropping it to 3.4Ghz I could drop the vcore enough that my hsf fan never really ramps up. I went for that as I love a totally silent system and the difference 'tween 3.4 and 3.5 only shows in benchmarks and is never noticeable.

ah cool, thanks for the tip, I was just wondering if it would be possible to overclock it more, i am not really bothered about the fan noise etc, the sound will cover that.

ah ok, hopefully it isn't but if it is i guess i wont be able to do much ;D.

pretty sure you should be able to hit 3.7Ghz with that chip, max safe voltage on Athlon II's is around 1.55 Volts, you should be able to hit 3.7 with 1.5275? or there abouts

thanks!! i'll try uping the core voltage a bit and see if that improves the overclock.

The earlier stepping of the 445 (CACAC AC), a locked down Deneb, was fine. The later stepping (NADHC AD), a locked down Propus seems to oc well, far, far less often and unlock to a quad far, far less often too.

My bet is that the OP's is a NADHC AD.
