What do you do when Indian Call Centre staff are too expensive?

"We are educated persons," he told the Guardian. "This is useful to me on completion of my sentence so I will get some job opportunity. Losing my job was not a major problem. But going to prison is a major problem. I have three children and their education is suffering. This gives me a hope."

Pretty sure I saw this in an email recently...

You won't have much choice if your bank or whatever decides to use them. You could vote with your feet, but where will you go?

Even better:

Surveying his first dozen inmates, Mohan Menon, a software specialist brought in to oversee the training, is bullish about the future. "Definitely we will get orders," he said. On a board behind him is written: "Skills of communication: KISS, Keep It Simple and Short."

All together now class, KISS stands for ....

Yes clearly, someone with mild intelligence would say the above rather than, ' we are intelligent people? or educated people?

"This is useful to me on completion of my sentence so I will get some job opportunity.

this is ****ed, rewarded for doing wrong? why the **** should scum like this get priviledged positions of trust like these people do, where they do a crap job under cutting those of us who actually bring a suitable level of professionalism and respect to the position

Losing my job was not a major problem.

so losing a job he already has isn't a major problem? you really have to love the message this sends to the current and next generation when hard working people get screwed and cheats and criminals get handed head starts on silver platters

But going to prison is a major problem.

Right, going back to the original statement about education and intelligence, prison, major problem, but not smart enough to not commit the crime in the first place?

I have three children and their education is suffering. This gives me a hope.

again back to the first post, intelligence, clearly this **** has none, so personally i dont think the children are suffering since the adult clearly don't understand the difference between right and wrong.

IMHO, hope isn't deserved, this guy needs a sound thrashing.

sorry for sounding harsh, i used to work for BT before india became so popular

i was raised to be like that, if your going to do something, then don't do it well, do it the absolute best, down side an up side of being a perfectionist, all or nothing :D

to add to that, it was encouraged at work, when a customer finished with me on the phone i knew that they had a good experience, they might forget about it after a while, but i knew they would never bang the phone down at me in anger at my speech, accent or for any other reason.

how many firms now lease out to indian call centres and how many times a day will people pick up their phones and be annoyed at the fake english accented person trying to make sense? i know i'll never get bored of them pathetically trying to do a job, but i will always be angry at the major companies for slashing that vital and important service from the english workforce simply because they want bigger profits for a worse service
