WANTING QUIET CASE FANS

I use Apaches at the moment. They're as good as I've used.

I've used Yate Loons (they're ok). Standard Lian-Li fans are quiet for ball bearing fans.

I've got an Evercool fan on the exhaust of my PC, which is quiet too.

I've got 5 120mm fans in my machine - all on a Sythe Kasemaster. It's virtually silent.

I think I'm going to go Noctua though next time I get some.

One thing though... not sure about the Megahelems, but on my TRUE, push pull is no different to just push - or if it is, it's difficult to quantify... certainly not worth the price of an extra fan.

Well... got these...Akasa AK-FN059 installed today with a controller turned them down and now i cant even hear them just brilliant thanks a lot for your help all its much appreciated. :0

Doesn't matter how good 9db might sound, there's no industry standard for measuring the db of fans. The only consistency is between fans of the same manufacturer but you still have no way of knowing the distances it was measured at, not to mention measuring low db is actually quite difficult. That's why lab tests are so good, every fan measuered in the same way as the others.

120mm fractals are the apaches equivalent, same noise but slightly less are shifted. For quietness I'd take the akasa apache (olive ofc :)) or enermax cluster. Same noise, same airflow bu the cluster has a detachable impeller and leds (plus on/off switch) but costs £5 more.

Really don't care for LED's want to replace the one on the front of my case that came included. But how deep are they? as i said i don't have much room. im very sensitive to even little noises, I bought a Xilence 120mm which was rated at 19db and it makes a Hum which is driving me mad. So Hopefully 9db or there abouts won't bother me :P

I have a setup with 1 Fractal fan spinning at 780 rpm (can go slower, but I find it doesn't start up when turning the PC on if so) blowing IN from the back directly at my CPU cooler, works very effectively (although my case is probably full of dust... haven't looked in a while). I also set my GPU fan to run at 800 rpm during 2D operation using RivaTuner. My experience is the noisiest thing tends to be the power supply.
