Hi All,

This is my first post so I hope I have got it correctly located within the Forum. I have built many PC's over the years for personal use but have finally decided I would like to try out a water cooling solution.

I have Crossfired two XFX ATI 6970's on a gigabyte P67A-UD7 motherboard. The CPU is a Sandy bridge i7-2600K 3.40 GHz and sitting in a Cooler master HAF X gaming Tower Case.

After some research I have found the following which I believe will provide a complete set, however I'm not sure about the products or if I need any extra connectors or converters from the 1/2 inch to the 1/4 inch or if they are provided with devices, any advice on the setup and recommendations is greatly appreciated.

Water Cooling Kit:-

EK Full Cover Waterblock for ATI 6970: FC6970 Nickel Acetal * 2
Ybrix Black Sun CPU Waterblock for Intel 1155
Laing D5 (MCP655) Vario Pump for 1/2" ID Tube
Hardware Labs Black Ice GT Xtreme 560mm Quad Radiator : GTX560
XSPC 5.25" Dual Drive Bay Reservoir Clear: BR525Dual
Feser Aqua Cooling Fluid (bi-distilled) 1Ltr - plus thinking of mixing with 25% antifreeze
XSPC 1/2" ID - 3/4" OD(13-19mm) High Flex Tubing
Zinc Plated Worm Drive Hose Clip for 3/4" (19mm) Outer Diameter Tubing

Thanks for any help I receive.

Looks good other than a couple of small points.

Swap the 1/2 tubing for 7/16 tubing as its a much tighter and more secure fit over 1/2 barbs.

Look at higher quality CPU blocks such EK Supreme, and finally don't use anti-freeze it does't have any anti-algae propeties as I found out for myself, use a silver kill coil or Mayhems Biocide along with distilled water.

You can mount various 360mm radiators into the top of the HAF X, I'm not sure about the fan clearance if you want to go push/pull though.

As others have said, forget the anti-freeze, cheap de-ionised water + silver kill coil is the way forward.

+2 > 7/16" tubing on 1/2"fittings + distilled water £4-5ltr and silver coil £4 far cheaper will perform just as good as the Fessa and it will work out cheaper in the long turn. How about using compression fittings look a lot smarter and just as good as barbs also just as easy to use, using them myself but its up to you at the end of the day.
