Your skin care routine?

I can't believe 5 pages so far and no:

I believe in taking care of myself, in a balanced diet, in a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now.
After I remove the icepack, I use a deep pore-cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water-activated gel cleanser, then a honey-almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub.
Then I apply an herb mint facial masque which I leave on for ten minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine.
I always use an after-shave lotion with little or no alcohol because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm, followed by a final moisturizing "protective" lotion...

^ Indeed.

TBH i wish i had a skin care routine!, in some areas my skin is in a pretty bad state and can do with some TLC, but i just don't have the time or simply can't be arsed

LOL Freefaller you spend half your life in the gym, essentially at least in part to look good, and have a problem with men that spend 30 seconds rubbing something into their face in the morning to keep their face looking nice (the part of you people look at most often).

Not everyone is genetically perfect like yourself, some men get dry / oily skin etc. and need help with it, even if they have a decent diet and exercise regimen ;).

If you're so keen for men to get back to the stone age perhaps you should stop lifting weights, they didn't have barbells back then ;).

I didn't realise you knew me so well... no, I don't really do it for the aesthetic reasons at all... Ok, possibly the smallest of possible reasons I admit there may be a small amount of vanity, but to be honest it's the LEAST important thing in my life. I don't wear skinny t-shirts or stare at myself at the mirror, in fact the only time i do is when I shave in the morning.

I'm far from genetically perfect, I wish I were. Trust me I have a lot of things I wish I could improve, but just accept the way I am. I think that's the issue people just don't want to accept the way they are, and want to hide under hundreds of products. Just like women who wear lots of makeup, I hate it, most of the girls I've dated, and most of my most attractive female friends wear either little or no make up and still turn heads. It's also about how you behave and carry yourself. I'm sorry to hear you have issues, I hope that you get over them some day :( Must be quite traumatic for you - I trust I haven't offended you, however I'm happy to offer some counselling should you feel you need it or refer to you to one. :) The reason I'm so concerned is that you seem so confident and sure of yourself all the time, I didn't realise you were so fragile! :( Seriously, I'm sorry to have caused you distress.

Hiding an underlying problem with a "bandaid" doesn't address the reasons for people's insecurities.

If people have genuine skin conditions and need to use products then of course it's just like medication.

However, my point still stands, that those spending a fortune on moisturising, and other "beauty" products is just plain weird, to me, and seems like a waste of money as it doesn't appear to achieve anything particularly significant.

Of course people have a choice to do whatever they want with/to their bodies - but as long as people realise that others don't always agree then there's no problem. Each to their own. :)

Thanks for picking up on a post I nearly made a year ago - my points still stand though.

As for your last comments, it's well known that although they didn't lift weights, a lot of the roman and greek armies owing to their diet and fierce training whilst not built like tanks, were lean, rugged and tough individuals. Why else would they build herculean style statues if such people didn't already exist in those days? The fact of the matter is, your comments about weight lifting are utterly limp in holding any weight.

Real men like dry skin, it makes them look rugged.

Personally i'm a fan of oily skin, it stops me from rusting.

I used to have acne, I still get spots but I only ever wash my face with water now. Occasionally I will soak my face in hot water (as hot as I can stand). Also, I use a bit of my mrs' face cream once in a while, usually after shaving.

You're doing the same to me as you did to Richdog above, making me out to be some kind of wounded animal, when the reality is that I find it hilarious that you are unable to see the irony of complaining about facial products that might take 30 seconds to apply, while you pump iron for x hours per day in a bid to feel better about yourself.

I think it's you with the insecurities, tbh, as every time someone questions you, you start with the 'Wow, wound up tightly aren't you love? Time of the month eh?' style of silliness that you seem to employ so often, irrespective of the number of smilies used in an attempt to lighten the mood, not to mention the fact when you're not sitting on your high horse, the other 50% of your posts either refer to how strong you are or how good you are with women. I'd imagine this to be your management style too; passive aggressive and more than slightly defensive :(.

The point about stoneage men not lifting weights, is that if you are prepared to use technology to aid yourself in improving your body (rather than lifting statues (!)), this is not so far removed from men that don't like their skin feeling like a camel's arse after they've shaved. Both are using technology and modern techniques to look and feel better about themselves.

SB118 is Greased Up Deaf Guy!

O'rly?

it stops me from rusting.

Sounds more like Bender to me :D

We need our efeminate men we need diversity. It's great! There's nothing wrong with being a bit girly, it's just not for me and I don't understand it because it's not something I do. I don't see the similarity with lifting weights since it's not for vanity. But as I said if you have issues or conditions then of course use products. Bubuaon products because you think it makes you better or masks defects seems daft to me.

There there darling. ;)

I used to use an Orbital sander on my face in the mornings followed by a good helping of Polyfilla and then a nice polish!!

I wash my face in the shower with some soap and wash my body with Original Source Mint & Tea tree (love the stuff). I will put some moisturiser on my face after washing because it can get a little dry, also after shaving. I also use coco butter on various areas of my body that are dry or prone to getting stretch marks from the gym.

I wake up, pick up my trusty house brick rub that around the face and pummel the odd spot that is there.

Job done.

Moisturiser is for women.
