So my Hanns-G 28" died. Anyone have experience with their warranty provider, repairtech?

When my monitors failed(maybe the same model as yours) I opted for monitor exchange rather than repair. RepairTech sent out two faulty replacements before the third one finally seemed to work properly(fingers crossed).

My opinion of them, although they are quick to collect/deliver items, is that it's pot luck whether you'll get a working replacement. It can be quite stressful dealing with them. Good luck ...

I supply most of the Hanns G product to OCUK, Ive always found repairtech to be pretty good, I get very few problems or customers coming to me with customer service problems.

I all honesty anyone providing warranty on product can be a bit hit and miss on occasions but firstly I get very few Hanns G failures and ive never had anyone come to me with any serious issues.

I have been dealing with RepairTech now on one issue for nearly 8 months.

My first monitor (DGM L-2362WD 23") developed two lines of dead pixels. I spoke to DGM (who also use RepairTech) and they arranged to collect it next day, which they did.

However, it took over 80 workings days and two emails from Trading Standards before they finally sent me a replacement.

Just over a month later this replacement has developed a fault (possibly two) that after seeing only two photos I've sent them they claim is customer damage (pressure marks) and they won't even pick the thing up to diagnose it properly.

I am continuing to fight with them but will be flat-out avoiding any company that has dealings with these people, as I have had nothing but grief and empty promises from them.

You need to bear in mind that Repairtech or any repair agent acts for the manufacturer and its the manufacturer who directs the repair agent in terms of service levels, stock, stock holding etc etc so part of the responsibility lies with the manufacturer in terms of ensuring replacement stock is available, funding is available for swaps, replacements etc etc.

In this respect Ive had very few issues with Hanns G from a supply point of view in the 4 or so years ive had dealings.

Im not naive enough to come on an educated forum like this and say they are the "nuts". Without doubt there are good and bad and indifferent experiences but in terms of the value end of the market, id suggest Hanns G fair very well in terms of the all round price, spec, reliability, service offering etc etc compared with other brands which I wont mention here.

What I would say is anyone having issues with HANNS G via repairtech get in touch with me, Ive contacts within Hanns G and Repairtech and can give these things a nudge.

sorry for thread necro just been searching the net for people with similar experiences dealing with this RepairTech company as it's been over six weeks now without my second monitor. just got in touch with trading standards for legal advice this morning and emailed the sales team at hannspree directly to try and get this resolved directly with the manufacturer.

so far

fault one - monitor kept going into standby mode/black screen, contrast stuck at max level.

fault two - monitor arrives and on taking it out of the unmarked brown box and placing in on desk. it's like looking at a crooked picture. damaged in transit by their courier in my opinion, dropped so hard the bracket isnt even secured properly to the monitor as two of the fixing have been sheared from the main body of the monitor. plugged monitor in thinking worse case i can make do/ buy a wall bracket. it worked for all of 1 hour before the screen went white. send it back again after reporting the problem to repaitech.

fault three - after over 5 weeks without a monitor i had to contact them to see what was happening. thought i'd give them some extra time with no pressure to fix the unit properly this time even though this fix was meant to be a max 10 day turnaround. i explained what the defects were and was assured the monitor would be tested fully this time. the monitor has just arrived back and i'm sat here looking at this crooked monitor on my desk, they obviously made no effort whatsoever to repair the broken fixings/bracket. it's going back tomorrow under advice from trading standards. if it arrives back in anything other than the pristine condition it left my address less the broken parts of course i'll move things along further with the manufacturer.

The measure of a good company in my opinion is when things go wrong - that's when you find out how good they are. such a shame really as i've been very happy with both Hanns G monitors until i've had dealings with their appointed warranty company. here's hoping that they actually fix it this try as having to take time off work to wait for pickups/deliveries is becoming quite an inconvenience ;)
