A 980X over a 2600K? I just had a look at the price difference, a whopping £493 more expensive for the 980X.

Looking at the benchmarks on Anandtech. I really can't see where this £493 is going. The 2600K beat it in almost all important tests.

Is there something I'm missing?

I'm surprised Intel haven't cut the price on those parts. I was also surprised when I saw how well the 2600K did against it.... perhaps people just don't spot it and buy the 980X anyway.

I'd feel physically sick if I splashed out mega bucks on the 980X and then took a peak at the benchmark figures comparing against the sandybridge.

I thought I was missing some important feature or something... £500 WOW!
