I agree, which is why I have a Creative X-FI + Speedlink 5.1 headset.

My point was merely that the game does not use soundcards the same as BF2 did for example. I have no doubt that the overall sound quality is better with the card + decent headset... but that goes without saying really.
 
I've not played BFBC2 for months and months, well, since June, has it changed much? Am I going to have to buy something else to play it online with plenty of people or is the standard game still popular without any mods?

Mods? I think you've got the wrong game.

The limit of modifications really extends to moronic admins putting in restrictions on the CG and Recons which only really prevent people who actually know how to use them from being able to do some because the ones who can't aren't a threat.
 
my x-fi fata1lty sound card (PCI) has some major snap crackle and pop issues in BFBC2 more so in Vietnam. Latest drivers etc. Cannot get the thing to be happy with that game.

I just hope BF3 will have support for EAX 5.0 and to be able to put my sound quality to Ultra High like in BF2. (Who am i kidding? This will never happen :p)
 
I am having some problems with BFBC2, I have upgraded my pc and have not played BF for some time. When I am in game I get kicked to the in game browser with the message 'can not connect to the ea servers' sometimes I dont get this message which initially I thought it was punkbuster so I have updated punbuster and tried non punkbuster servers and it still happenes.

Its a new install of BFBC2 with widows 7.

I tried onboard sound with Shattered Horizon which is a good game for sound and felt it was lifeless and flat. Plugged in my old Audigy 2 ZS and didn't try onboard again.

Now using a Xonar DX, Goldring NS1000 and an Fiio E5 and I must say the combination is incredible for the price.

Even when not in game with the game browser on for 10min i get disconnected from ea:(
 
God, I dont know whats going on today but I have been shot through walls more times today than all of the previous days combined. At one point I was even in the Garage on Arica and got killed by a guy who appeared to have shot me through the ground and back wall of the garage from the hills above. Just finished playing for today and it must have been a good 20 or 30 times that I was killed through ceilings or floors or walls. I think in all the months combined before today its only happened maybe, twice? and I put that down to me actually be shot as I rounded a corner but lag making it look like I had been shot after actually running around the corner. Today though its been pretty clear.

Not a new hack around or something is there?
 
There are hack sites around that monitor what punkbuster do and find a workaround. Bots that auto fire and always hit. Hacks where you can see through walls and know where the enemy is etc etc..

It makes my blood boil because they ruin the game for the genuine players who want to use skill. It grinds my gears when people use the rocket launcher as their primary weapon and no one follows server rules and always base rape.

Not much we can do about it and any new FPS will suffer the same unfortunately.

I think he knows that. Getting shot THROUGH walls though is something different. Sounds very dodgy if there is a hack that can do that. I would say its ridiculous but given that the game had a frigging teleport hack where you could teleport OTHER PLAYERS its hard to disbelieve it.

One of my pet hates is quite the opposite, some servers have anti base rape scripts which autokill anyone that ventures/shoots into the enemy base to rape. However then you get the idiots on the opposing team who just sit in the base and fire out from tanks. You kill them and get killed yourself for 'base raping' grrrr.
 
Been playing a few games this morning and came across a couple of cheats. One guy went to 40-1 with the M16. Everytime I was killed by him it was always from a really quick burst, instant headshots and nothing I could do.

Have finally broke even with my K/D and I now stand on the princely sum of 1.00.

i agree, the only games worth playing these days are admin run servers, if you find one with admin live and playing..... stick on it
