today i had a pop at random telling me cope of windows that i have been using for 6months is not real and that i need to buy a new COA, microsoft are offering me no support and just telling me to buy a new COA, i phoned ********* what sold me the copy of windows and i was told that 2 ppl must be using my COA and that they offer no support.

is there any to sort out this type of problem or am a just getting ****** over. the copy of windows is windows 7 ultimate.

Also i am 100% that the COA in only on one system

Well if it was a big retailer, then I would assume you should have some method of comeback.
Was it a preinstalled system?
A copy you bought, was it OEM or retail, and what version of windows?

When did you install it, has it ever been on another machine?
Do you have the physical CoA?

it is a retail copy of 7 Ultimate 32/64 bit
it's only been on one system
yes i have the COA

could that happen if there was a change in the system? i added 4gig of ram this morning and it started telling me to buy a new COA about 3hr's ago

TBH I'd not bother with phoning them. As you've discovered they're no help at all. I would go in person to the store and kick up one hell of a fuss and not leave until you've got satisfaction ;)

If it was then it would've told you the moment you booted into windows (and I think the limit on system changes is for OEM versions of windows 7 only)

I would suggest you go back to this well known retailer and tell them it is only installed on one computer and if they should give you a new COA since your current one is not fit for purpose thus you should get a replacement under the sale of goods act (I hope).

Day off tomorrow i will go around rush hour and go nuts

Have you tried the reauth process within windows itself?

You have actually authenticated it, and registered it, both processes done form within windows?
Screenshot the error msg you are being shown.

There is no way to see the Product Key without opening the box. So unless his copy of Windows 7 arrived with broken seals it is bugger all to do with where he bought it. He might get lucky and get a replacement, but as far as I can see he has no case for barging into the store and quoting the Sale of Goods Act.

I assume it activated correctly when he first installed it, so again - it is not the fault of the Purple Shirts.

All I can think of is someone has tried to install 7 using his key [a family member, mate, whatever] or MS has found a key circulating that happens to be the same as the OPs. It is unlikely, but I am sure somewhere a key generator has come up with legit keys on occassion.

if i had the COA and 5 PC or i was using a downloaded copy i would understand but microsoft just say haha you have been a bad boy, and we dont unban COA's. they cant or wont tell me what i have done.

What happens when you try the automated process over the phone, where you don't speak to a humna and type in a stack of digits?

Also why have you 26 days to activate? Did you reinstall recently?

it say the code cant be confirmed, sorry.... then phone go's dead.

IDEA... last week i reinstalled using raid0 could that change anything?

it says i have 26 days to activate to get a new code or windows will stop working, when i did the reinstall it activated it right away

You can reinstall multiple times with Retail copies of Windows 7. Changing certain components may require you to reactivate but you shouldn't be banned. MS would only do that if either their licensing/piracy department have discovered that key circulating with dodgy copies or if multiple machines have tried to activate using the same key simultaneously.

Then let them do it in the Small claims court. You have the reciept ? and you certainly have the disks
Though I would try a virgin reinstalling first
