Very simple question really.

If budget wasn't an issue, but it was your money you had to spend, what would your components list be?

If you've already got your dream build you're a lucky sod :p

What I think would be good, is if people filled in what they'd realistically choose rather than the most important parts. Again yeah think of it as if it was YOUR own money :p

Anyway here's mine :)

Think I'd have to call it Black and gold xD

I would go for dual Xeon's giving me 12 cores and maybe 24GB RAM and 4x GTX 580. But such as system wpuld cost probably around £8k.

id add an external blue ray to my system :) Would also probably swap over to 3 580's or something now as well. would like to get off nforce chipset so yea, err probably what you specced but a bit more shiny.

No reason to upgrade yet though, bought my system back in 17/06/2008 and then swapped 280's over to 295's (house insurance replacement after I spilt stuff on them) and other than metro and no dx11 support it hasnt skipped a beat.

Got my dream case already for it though, that cost more than a lot of peoples pc's :/
Dont think im ever going to replace my case now, but will still have to buy one with each new system, for the old components unless I sell them on, but I like to have a little LAN center in my house, up to 4 gaming rigs now lol.

pics are old but i cba to take new ones.

Epic system!!!
plan to do the same to my TJ07!!!!

when I did mine, a black ice rad was the only one that could fit in the top without modding it, and if your not using the top 5.25 bay for anything big like a dvd drive (im using mine for a fan controller, it doenst go back very far) you could fit a 120.3 up there without modding I think.

The bottom is pretty tight with a 120.3 2 pumps and res, tubes and a load of slack cable lol. If you want any help/advice on where I got stuff/who did bits of it etc then give me a shout over trust.

exactly which black ice was it?
How did you get the fans in aswell on the top with the radiator there?

Do these help?
I had a company do it, since I was getting them to create custom mounts for the pumps/res's, splash anodize the case, powder coat the inside and create and mount the thermochill 120.3 in the bottom, I let them do the black Ice as well. Unfortunately I dont have access to the original emails about the order detailing the parts, So beyond it being a BlackIce 120.2 I cant give much help, but it looks like a Stealth GT 240, although the GTX 240 also looks the same, but its fatter so I think it wouldnt have fitted. I dont work where I did at the time, and it was a custom product for all the work that I "bought" on the site, so it only shows that in order history.

480 and 360 in the bottom? or do you mean a 480 at the top? they wont both fit down the bottom, at least not with fans and a PSU. Top you can fit almost anything tbh, you can use thinner fans or a different mounting technique (replace the mesh grill stuff) and then you can fit a thicker rad in there.

Just found my case on the website that made it in the "CNC window cut" section, before it was painted. google that term and you will find the site that will do it all for you if you want, but if you want to do it yourself they can supply you with all the bits you need, there are pics of ways of doing it, and you can get help from the staff there very easily.

Hasnt been cleaned since the day I built it :P well, the rad at the bottom has, and the intake fan filters have, but not the inside.

I have a really small PSU (size of a 135mm fan) so i might just be able to squeeze it in. I saw some build logs where many people had a 480 and 240 in the bottom. Will have a look at the websites

I could upload some more pics, of the bottom area with my kit in it if you want? Could also measure some stuff I suppose, or at least post the sizes from the specs so you can get an idea of space? Its not tidy down there though, its where I keep all the excess cable slack lol.
