I'd leave it in my bank account because I don't have a burning desire to blow every penny I come into contact with?

But in your situation obviously Option 2 is the best.

If you really feel compelled to do option 1 then buy a proper laptop for less than a grand, and buy a Fisher Price My First Computer and kill two birds with one stone.

If it were me in your shoes I'd get the 13" MBP at £1020, and start driving lessons. While doing the driving lessons, put more money away towards your car as you go.

That's my 2p anyway.

Option 2. Being able to drive will be a massive benefit over a laptop you don't potentially need.

I've just brought a 13" MBP and if was in your position I'd be putting it towards driving. (not that I'm unhappy it's just a no brainer for me!)

I think you've already made you decision. Learn to drive, now go for it.

I would go with option 2, besides, you could get a decent little run around as your first car for under £1k these days. My first car was a H reg 1.1 Fiesta and in the 2 years I had it I didn't have a single problem with it, that cost me about £500.

Why anyone would want to spend so much on an MBP is beyond me.

I have 2k now which was earned from overtime I did over Christmas. What did I do with it????......put it towards the deposit to my house.
