Dungeons - upcoming Dungeon Keeper-style strategy game

Don't have your hopes up too high, I got a feeling this is going to be a turkey. I hope I am wrong though but I think that they have rushed this game way too much, it hardly had any development time (from the info I found, barely 6 months) which in turns makes me believe there is hardly any game there, it will be relying on the previous strong DK titles to make its sales.

It's released here in Germany today and the first reports are coming in. Apparently it doesn't look too good.

The main concerns are that after getting to know the basics, it's very repetitive, combined with hefty time restrictions for quests. This seems to need urgent fixing.

Some niggles about mouse sensitivity and general control issues, doesn't seem all that serious though.

Generally at this point it seems that this game is already recommended for the bargain bin.

I was very keen on this but I'll most defnitely wait for some patches and read some more about it then. Hopefully they'll get it into shape in a bit.

This is fast becoming boring!

So far most of the game is placing items just to make the heroes go oooooh that looks pretty for prestige. The heroes you cant really kill them or imprison them until after they've collected the cold for soul points. In which most of the time in cage they do push ups or just stand about, Basically this game is a game of prestige and influence i don't feel like a bad guy at all.

Have you seen the way the guy walks?, Camp Dungeon Lord! lol

Oh and you spread influence by placing demonic signs on the floor in which your creatures stand ready to defend. Nope they don't come out or stay near their own homes but your demonic signs.

Played a little more, not enough like dungeon keeper if you ask me.

You don't attract monsters with rooms and stuff it seems, but rather you just construct a 1 tile building that then spawns a certain amount of a certain monster there. Very simplistic and boring way to do it in comparison to how it worked in dungeon keeper.
The emphasis appears to be on your main character and 'satisfying' the heroes that come into your dungeon.

Also, those damn imps... when they destroy walls they stop and carry gold to your character all the ****ing time and it's driving me insane. I want that damn hallway made but they just keep stopping the digging operations to bring me 3 gold coins or some ****.
I wish it was more like dungeon keeper where they would just dig and dig and dig and then later pick up stuff.

Maybe these things change later in the game. I've only played 3 missions so far, but still it's not really what I expected so far... it looked like a dungeon keeper clone (which is what I wanted, really) but for better or worse, the gameplay seems to be a quite different.

Maybe you all knew this stuff already, I never really informed myself about it too much. Just saw the screens and it reminded me of dungeon keeper so much that I just had to get it

Oh dear, shame it looks like it maybe rubbish. I enjoyed playing DK2 before xmas and was looking forward to this.

very disappointing. With all the effort they put into making it look identical to dungeon keeper, they probably should have kept similar gameplay elements, but it's very slow and not so interesting.

After this thread it's going to need a demo to even begin to make me think about parting with my money.
