Played a little more, not enough like dungeon keeper if you ask me.
You don't attract monsters with rooms and stuff it seems, but rather you just construct a 1 tile building that then spawns a certain amount of a certain monster there. Very simplistic and boring way to do it in comparison to how it worked in dungeon keeper.
The emphasis appears to be on your main character and 'satisfying' the heroes that come into your dungeon.
Also, those damn imps... when they destroy walls they stop and carry gold to your character all the ****ing time and it's driving me insane. I want that damn hallway made but they just keep stopping the digging operations to bring me 3 gold coins or some ****.
I wish it was more like dungeon keeper where they would just dig and dig and dig and then later pick up stuff.
Maybe these things change later in the game. I've only played 3 missions so far, but still it's not really what I expected so far... it looked like a dungeon keeper clone (which is what I wanted, really) but for better or worse, the gameplay seems to be a quite different.
Maybe you all knew this stuff already, I never really informed myself about it too much. Just saw the screens and it reminded me of dungeon keeper so much that I just had to get it
