Hi guys. I bought this card when they came available on OCUK and as I'm sure you are aware they aren't actually overclocked. I've tried flashing the BIOS but it just doesn't happen. I'm a complete novice at flashing GPU BIOS' but I've tried umpteen times and it just doesn't work. I'm pretty hacked of because it's not what I paid for. What are my options here?

Cheers.

Sorry :P the MSI GTX 580 OverClocked edition but it isn't clocked at the speed it was advertised and it doesnt flash to the bios supplied by MSI

There's an MSI rep that's frequently on the forums here - perhaps he'd be able to help you... Either that or contact MSI UK?

Have you tried overclocking it using msi afterburner to the advertised speeds? It's only an interim measure and I agree, it should be returned if it not running at 'stock overclocked' speeds.

If you care that much about a preoverclock you can try and RMA it, you're probably to late to DSR it though.

I know it sounds a pretty mediocre issue but I only bought the card because of the advertised specs. I was led to believe that the flashing the card would be an easy process but it just doesn't seem to work.

What card did you buy and what doesn't it do ?
Am guessing the Op would bought this one
But it seems like they all got shipping with stock clocks (Including my two)

HI there

Due to a balls up and pricing error by MSI we have stock of GTX 580's from MSI at just £399.99 Inc. VAT delivered to loyal forum members. However these are no ordinary GTX 580 they are sporting a rather impressive overclock making them at this price an absolute steal and we only have 90 of them left and the price will be going up £30-£40 midday Monday unless they sell out sooner:-

Plus if you do it yourself and it doesn't work out then you will lose out on warranty.
I've preordered a GTX 560 SOC from Gigabyte, its overclocked by 180Mhz. I could do it myself but for £20 more, its preoverclocked and still has 3 years warranty..
