I have been robbed!

How was the transaction made? That is, did PayPal take it from your bank account or via your debit card? And if it was your debit card was it a Visa? You might be able to do a Visa chargeback.

Regardless, your bank should sort this for you.

I'm fuming with my bank, apparently they will be breaking the law if they help me before 30 days,

Now that is rubbish, you've been a victim of a crime yet the bank say it's the law to help before 30 days?!

Another bad notch for Sentander :/

This is one of those reasons I have never used PayPal, sorry to hear it though dude.

Why would it stop you using PayPal? Do you not use debit or credit cards because people have had money taken illegally from them as well? Do you not use cash because there are counterfeit notes around? :p

It's very likely paypal will get it back to you. Due to the time it takes to get money out of a paypal account, they will be able to freeze the withdrawal and transfer the money back to you.

Santander are the worst bank ever and have useless CS,feel for you OP and i really hope you get your money back, which no doubt you will in time.

paypals a joke dont know why you need your bank account tied to it.
do they not allow bank transfers yet to your paypal?

i klnow alertpay you can do a bank transfer directly into there bank account and you just get a refference code you need to include its simple and as pretty much every bank has the fast transfer clearing thing now the money gets added into your alertpay account within the hour.

no risk of someone getting your alertpay details and raping your bank.

its a pitty ebay have the whole paypal monopoly going on

I don't use paypal but it's just like any other online transaction or getting your card skimmed isn't it? It can happen? Do paypal have guarantees like credit cards do? I know whenever I've contested rogue charges on my credit cards they've always cleared them without question.

Hope you get it sorted promptly. It's never nice being in that situation.

All banks don't know what the left hand is doing from the right, don't bother phoning santander instead go to your local branch and explain you have fraudulant transaction on your account they should by rights cancel the card and order you new card

Paypals dispute status

"Awaiting other party's response"

Oh ive been robbed, I'll just sit here with no money while paypal waits for the theif to respond explaining where my moneys gone

I had a similar thing happen to me a while ago. Fortunately it was only off my credit card via PayPal, so I didn't have to bother my bank. I contacted PayPal and told them their standard resolution times were not acceptable and I wanted it fixed it immediately. It was resolved within a couple of days, though I've no idea if my message helped.

I would also speak to your bank and keep escalating it until you are speaking to someone senior. At that point they will either do something, or they probably are powerless for whatever reason and you won't get anything done quickly. It's worth a shot!
