Superbowl

I guess I'll be watching it, the only game of NFL I watch all year. The last few Superbowls have had some really good games, so it's been worth watching.

For those who are unsure who to support, just found this...

... although I think it's somewhat biased...

Rugby with lots of padding, that stops and starts every two seconds to let those big girls catch their breaths!:p

Exactly this. It is just endless stopping and starting with nothing in particular going on in between. I just don't understand the entertainment of it.

No thank you.

if you have ever played it for real, like I have, you will quickly realise that the padding is really necessary. Having played both rugby and american football, american football is a lot harder hitting and physically demanding. without a helmet or pads you are in for a nasty injury!

Me and my friends have this tradition of pretending to be Americans a few days after the superbowl (we're not staying up to watch it!)

So Wednesday night = bud, pizza, peanuts, pop corn and the super bowl at mine. Hopefully I one of us can acquire the game in HD plus commercials.

Anyone know of anywhere I can watch this streamed online, I'm in Turkey on a course and don't fancy watching it with Turkish commentary (if it's even on tv).

And no points for 'iPlayer', doesn't work abroad.

A load of my friends are into American football recently. It seems to have grown on them so they are making a big event of it tongiht and having tomorrow off. I might have gone if it wasn't for the fact that I have no holiday time left at all.

Its strange that it seems to have grown in popularity a lot recently. Loads of people on about it.

It's a great sport, I will be watching tonight.

Makes a change from playing it:)

I'm in mid air 71 :D

Love how people assume the pads and helmet make it a pussy sport :D
The amount of rugby players wearing padding these days is on the up, must be a bunch of pussys.

Got free tickets to see it at the Indigo02 Greenwich, complete with the Colts cheerleaders :D. Watched the superbowl last year and really enjoyed it so followed the season this year, picked my team as the Packers and we're at the superbowl first time round

One of my mates from uni who used to play rugby league got into American football and having seen him play I agree it's definitely not a sport for wimps and the padding is necessary.

He tried his best to get the rest of us into it, or at least vaguely following it, but even after his explaining all the rules, how different plays worked etc. I just really didn't like it so no staying up late for me tonight.

I completely understand the sport and it can be enjoyable but the pauses every couple of seconds really ruin the experience for me, and there is too much running the clock, Most yank sports are the same, they can't play for a full quarter unless they have breaks/timeouts all the time
