sandybridge 2500K retail on
asus P8P67 board
2TB sammy F4
gigabyte GTX560Ti OC
OCZ Platinum 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C8
60GB Corsair Force F60

and my wallet is £673.50 lighter

I had to get the solid state drive from another place as i wanted the mounting bracket which the today only solid state drive did not have here.

i hope to hell its going to be a good system (and that my 520w psu can cope! - it should do its a quality brand).

i gave up my gaming rig around 3 years ago, it had an XXX 7800GTX in it with 256mb of ram.

since then i have used my xbox360.

other rigs in the house inc my media PC which is an X2 4200 running onboard graphics (the one i am on now)

my downloads pc which is an A64 3200 with a matrox g400 (oh yeah feel the power!)

and my mame arcade cab running an overclocked A64 single core @ 2.5ghz and geforce 6600 iirc

its fair to say this is by far the fasted computer i have ever built!.

i will dig out my old case, dvd burner and psu over the next day or so.

That is a nice system, but what case are you using because the words "old case" just sound so wrong next to the nice spec

well its a coolermaster case, cant remember the exact model, it wasnt expensive but its reasonably tidy looking case.

as for the ram, am sure the geil is a little better, but i am thinking the stuff i got should be ok. I have bust my budget by 75 quid already due to getting the solid state drive. I had to draw the line at the above set up :)

cheers guys

Ram is fine. It's all much of a muchness anyway. Geil was great for a while when the price was so low, now due to supply and demand it has gone up and no longer the amazing deal it was a few weeks back. The OCZ is absolutely fine.

Oh and Enjoy :D

taaa!

gutted i totally forgot the ram was pre-order and not instock till the 11th.

so i guess i wont get till the 12th at the earliest. i wonder if it will hold up my entire order, if not i may see if i can nab a stick out of one of our newer work pc's - just a loan ofcourse! ;)

Nice upgrade, only thing I would have done is spent a extra £10 and gone with the Geil ram:

well i have ended up doing exactly what you reccomended. I forgot the OCZ stuff was not instock till next monday.

so i see this has looser timings than the 30 quid OCZ stuff, but is rated to a higher speed.

not sure which is best really, what do you guys think? (not that it matters as i did not want to wait a week for my toys ;) )

cheers
