G1 KILLER MOTHERBOARDS!

^^ £200 markup IMO (by gigabyte not OcUK) for the Killer NIC hype. Whereas the SR-2 does look like a £500 board.

Problem is rjkoneill - atleast to me - that silverstone does not look like a £500 case, more like £200, maybe £250 for the extra space/fittings over similiar, whereas the SR-2 looks every part a £500 board - and these Gigabyte boards do look fancy tho not £300+ fancy imo.

Aaargghhhhhh, are they not going to bring out a 4 slot sandy bridge board.....i grow impatient.:(

Nowt wrong with the prices, if you have the cash buy it, if you feel that strongly about it start your own buisness and sell cheaper and see how long you last! I dont mind paying slightly over the odds if i know who i am buying from :)
That was just a sweeping generalisation for anyone that goes on about prices - not meant for anyone in particular ... runs n hides :p

ouch damn, all that for a single socketed board that's too big to fit in most cases.

nice design but majorly overpriced

i love how people see a £500 motherboard and not a word is said, but a £500 case comes to market and the witch hunters light their torches and grab their pitchforks

Indeed.

The 500 motherboard would drop to what resale value after 2 years... 100 quid, 50 quid?

The case would drop far less.

And I bet I know what I'd still be using 5 years later :)

;( I soooo want one of these but they're waaaaaayyyy too overpriced, £462 for the cool styling, the killer nic, and lucid hydra?????

I can only speak for myself but i already knew what the expected price was. if it makes you feel better, thats a ******* joke of a price;)

seriously though, half the posts in the thread make a comment on it. Nice boards im sure they are. But i could literally buy 5 of my motherboards for that price. 5x more better the g1 killers are not.

Hey,

Nice looking board, but the price is just insane. I purchased my whole i5 upgrade for that amount! I'd be going for the SR-2 as RJ said. Yes you need two cpu's and lots of ram, but the price of the board is at least justified then!

There seems to be a mistake in either the pricing or description, if the price is right then surely the description should say it comes with CPU and RAM fitted? No? lol

On a related note, will you guys also be carrying the new Gigabyte X58A-OC high-end over clock enthusiast MB that is also suppose to release by the end of February?

Why do people care so much that its got a magazine-shaped heatsink and a nicely coloured PCB. Pure gimmickry.

What makes this worth 3 times the cost of a Sabertooth TUF at £150?
