you say your rubbish? Are you playing on your own or with mates?

If I play on my own. I usually go 15-20 kills and around 10 deaths. If I play with two mates. It's more like 20+ kills and a few deaths.

I play with two controlling the area people. Camping ;)

And I map walk/edge walk.
 
The only thing I would change with alrik's suggestion is take off hacker. And put on ninja. Better still get it pro.

I would swap care package for napalm. As care packages. Are usually rubbish!!!

Also I would be tempted to run with hardline. With the kill streaks. Suggested. As if you can manage 3 kills then die each time. Most of the time their radar will be jammed. But maybe ghost would be a good start.

If your going the silenced route. I would also suggest trying galil.

And dual mags. I would swap out for extended mags.
 
Played this loads last night and actually had fun!
Although at one point I completely ran out of ammo so ran around like an idiot trying to find a gun. Got killed and when I respawned I dropped a care package I had and it was ammo:o
 
I'm close to coming to the decision that Black Ops is actually not a great game, just an OK one.

BFBC2 (and Vietnam) are just both so much more gratifying. I've been playing these almost exclusively the last two weeks (on and off) and went back to Black Ops yesterday with the new maps and hated it. Hated how rushed everything was, how completely repetitive it was, how skill isn't really much of a factor when playing these game (or not as much as it should be), how simple it is, how the game promotes playing selfishly - everything.

It's very much based about playing/winning for yourself and little, if no, real team work is required to win.

Not 'trolling', just looking for discussion and to hear if anyone else feels the same.

They really need to do something different with the next one - take it away from this style of game, and perhaps make it more open and more team-based.
 
I agree it is a selfish game. The RC-XD killstreak proves it. The fact that people would rather use that than teh Spy Plane shows most people are only in it for themselves.
 
So um, is this game really that bad on Ps3? I hear people moaning baout lag but from my experience that's usually down to the users ISP and not the game. I cannot belive it's as unplayable as some people make out.
 
What I hate is getting disconnected or swapping hosts during games. It honest feels like I've downloaded something illegal and this is the only way to play it. Its crap but oh well it is free.......oh wait :p
 
Just can't get into this anymore, every time I play it I'm not having fun and end up quitting. I'll just snap the disc into a million pieces and be done with it.

It can be quite rageful. Have you tried playing bare bones pure? can be a nice break from the ******.

I largely agree, but then again with its success and a very large proportion of players seemingly having no problem with it and in fact wanting more of the stuff I dislike about the game, I think the next installment will probably be worse for it.

I wouldn't call the lag 'unplayable' but then again there is definitely something happening at code level as it happens far too frequently to be a simple connection issue. I would say pretty close to the half the time I'm playing there is noticable lag. Just test it yourself by listening to how many bullets you get off before someone kills you, and compare it with the killcam. On bad days I can get close to half a clip emptied into someone, and in their screen I fire one shot just before I go down.

I'm also pretty sure that when they 'took a look' at the lag issues in a previous patch, they just adjusted the bars reading on the score screen to be more generous with ratings and did little else. I say this because before the patch three or even two bar connections were far more common, and after four bars was the norm even though I didn't notice any appreciable improvement in connection. I've also had many four bar connections have noticable lag.

It's silly how easy it gets when you reach level 17 and get the AK74u.

Only went up 5 levles during double XP, totally struggled to get into it and was ill for most of the weekend as well. Oh well, hopefully wont be long before the next one.

I always plan to get on for a few good sessions on double XP weekends and it never seems to amount to more then a couple of hours over the weekend :(
 
the AK74 definately isn't as effective as it was before the last update. Still the best SMG though.

I tend to alternate between that and the AUG/Galil/Commando depending on the size of the map.
 
I also don't tend to see many players on the higher levels of prestige, only a handful per lobby. Maybe they got bored and left BO, or didn't bother prestiging.
