I love my colleagues...

Hmm.. can see both sides.. its only a cheap box of chocolates.. but still its wrong to open someone elses stuff without asking.

I'd have to say something as just stewing over it would just ruin my day, it's just a bloody liberty so kick off, if they try to make you the bad guy for having a 'strop' then so be it, at least they'd know.

Either that or revenge....served cold.

That is out of order. Who cares if they were cheap? It makes no difference. It's the principle of thinking it's acceptable to open something that isn't yours.

I'd hate to work with some of you misery guts :p

To me; the thanks is what's important. As long as someone appreciates the work I do I have no problem doing it. Gifts etc are nice, but never expected or valued in a selfish way.

If he truely isn't bothered about eating them (you haven't even spoken to him yet) then that's a different story and you can make a few jokes til it hits home, as Knubje said; "ahh I woulda had a XYZ sweet but there is none left thanks to you greedy vultures, next time I'll lace them with laxatives, reeeey, banter, etc".

FIRE ALARRRRM :)

The thing is it's not the sweets that are important, i can happily live without a box of heroes, i don't really eat chocolate during the day anyway..... but it's the principal of it all. It honestly typifies (is that a word?) the type of person he is, this job has made me absolutely hate working with people.... i would be happiest sat in a cupboard working on my own. I need that Tshirt that simply says "I HATE PEOPLE" on it :p

One of the problems @mrbios is that should the home machine be done in works time. This is what I face all the time in my position. I do it, but it would be againts company policy, which could turn into a disciplinary procedure. Just be careful.

On the other hand, tell your collegues to keep away from your personal stuff. They have no right just to take what they want in the office. If anyone did that where I work I would class it as theft and get them to buy new ones. I would be foaming with that myself!!!

All work was done during my lunch hour :)

Ah, then in that case great. What about company elec / tools though? on a side note it's not about how much things cost. It's the mature professional attitude not to take others belongings. They had no right to take them. Damn them to be honest!

PS if you want to tell tail, see your manager as that is theft. They probably will have to buy you what they ate again if not a warning should be at their mercy. Fools.

Just start taking stuff from thier desks.. If they get stroppy about it just say "I thought that this is what we are doing now?" and walk off...
