Ive had my mouse for 5 years now and the battery is getting a lot shoter in holding its charge (2 days max)

now i do like the Logitech MX Revolution but wondered if anyone has had this mouse and moved onto another logitech mouse and found it better ?

ive been looking on the web and i can change the battery but at a cost of roughly £20 for battery and new pads.

question is,do i change the battery or get a new mouse ?

Email Logitech and report the problem and you might get some discount on a new mouse or battery as they have superb CS.

Edit: Beat me to it ^:)

Get in touch with Logitech...

Customer support is godly xD

kd

i have delt with logitech for my g15 (fading paint) and did get a good service but ive checked on there website and they say the battery cannot be changed.

i know the mouse is well out of warranty but still look's as good as new after all this time so i don't think logitech will give me a new one because of a 5 year old mouse.

I bet they will offer you some discount though on a new mouse, email them you have nothing to lose.

ive just got a reply back from logitech and they asked me to send them a picture of the mouse with a reference number next to it and they will see what they can do as they dont to battery's for the mx.

i was only looking for a 50% off code at the least but look's like they are going to replace the mouse.

i was going to get the g700 if i did get the 50% off code.

fingers crossed as i didn't expect the reply i got to be honest.

well it looks like ill be getting a brand new performance mx withing 7 to 19 days.

quite shocked at the result to be honest.

outstanding customer service.

i did get good customer service when i asked for a new surround for my old g15 when the paint had started to fade near the zx keys when i play a game and got a 50% voucher of anything on there website.

but for a battery to have worn out on a everyday item and them to send me a new one is pretty outstanding and im quite taken back by it all.

I contacted Logitech support for the first time two days ago as the left button on my MX Revolution was sticking. According to their records, still covered by new warranty. A New Performance MX was shipped today. top notch service.

got a mail saying it will be 7 to 10 days for delivery, that was 2 days ago.

just got another mail saying my new mouse has been dispatched and it will be here Monday !

i just cant believe the service i just got from logitech.

Good upgrade, I did exactly the same (Logitech sent me a replacement revolution after my MX1000 and then a replacement PMX after the revolution) and the PMX is running great. The battery that came with it was an Eneloop and lasts 2 days of gaming usage several hours a day. I will be changing it for a high rated rechargeable soon though to hold more juice. It's only 1xAA and you can use it while it's charging as well and it's MicroUSB so can charge your other devices too when not in use.

The Unifying receiver is the best part of all.

Top tip: Mine stopped holding a charge for more than a day or two, nothing to lose as it was useless and bought second hand. Had a read around, see link comments. So gave it a good slam down and it started charging like new. Looking inside the MX its the same battery as the G7 and just pushes against connectors. It just moves the connection points where oxidation has built up. Still going strong a year later.
