Water cooling Tube size

if your using compression fittings then you have to use the same size tubing as the fittings are designed for. if your using barbs then 7/16 tubing will give an excellent seal around 1/2 barbs without any real need for hose clamps (i use a tie wrap anyway but its not needed)

Thanks guys, I was looking for a tubing that was easy to work with and was not to bulky and kinks very easily. What brand would you suggest?

Primochill LRT, 3/8"" ID 5/8"" OD is a good range. Colours look nice and its very difficult to kink. I myself got the red and it looks good, doesnt go cloudy like some tubing.

im setting mines up just now, using 1/2 barbs and 7/16" tubing. its a bit of a pain to fit cold but dipping it in hot water for a few mins is making it just slide over.

im using O clips for the pump and waterblock but cable ties on the rest

XSPC tubing is good value. A fraction of the price of Tygon and just as good. I prefer 7/16" tubing with 7/16" compressions.

Masterkleer tubing does the job too.

Always prefered Tygon 1/2" too, just seems better quality than others i've tried, I use 1/2" inch barbs with a jubilee clip. I Always tend to put PTFE tape on the barb thread aswell even if it's got an O ring, better safe than sorry I reckon.

7/16 pipe on 1/2 barbs always does it for me, and i cant say there is any noticable difference flow wise between the two , you are less likely to get a leak also with 7/16 on 1/2"

3/8 on compression fittings for me.
Tubing is plenty wide enough and the fittings are solid, I've tried pulling on mine (dry obviously) with plenty of pressure and they don't come off.
Compression fittings look better too imo.

I've never personally used any compression fittings, I've always used 1/2" barbs with 1/2 inch tubing along with hose clamps. Touch wood the only leaks I've had so far were from forgetting to tighten a barb going into a rad - thats why we leak test :D
