My cousin had the same operations and you can actually barely notice it now in his late 20s
my new nephew was born only last week. he wasn't feeding properly and no-one knew why. well a few days later they found a cleft in the soft palate. was so gutted for the wee man, felt really bad because he's so small and helpless and there's nothing you can do.
anyways that's a few days ago now and he has a special feeding bottle I think and things are going better.
i was straight onto the net looking it up. it's a mixture of good and bad really but this thread gives hope
may show my sister she's not alone!
