any idea if the sandybridge socket types are different sizes?

i ant to know if my awesome thermaltake spin q will fit in my new rig, which is sandybridge.

ive got the clips for the older socket type.

oh and also anyone know how i activate my 250 posts for free delivery??? ALMOST THERE WWOOOOOOOOOOOO ocuk here i come from now on!!

i can now not just use the blue n white people. dont use the orange so ocuk keep up the good deals
 
You will need link your shop account with you forum user name, do this by logging into your shop account and there is a option to link your forum account.

Go to You and your account, the option will be below your email address :)

All Sandybridge sockets are the same size, cooler for 1156 sockets will fit, not sure if your will though.
 
if they are the same size why do u rekkon it wont fit? cause it might have been for the older "core duo" series etc?

Socket 775 brackets wont fit Sandybridge or the i5 7xx sockets due to hole positions, it may be worth emailing Thermaltake as they may send the you the new bracket.

How old is your cooler as the website mentions support for the new cpu's.
 
i bought it about 5 months ago from a cool modding place special tech. just gonna look to see if they still sell them
 
dam it appears the thermaltake site is down... not sure theyd send one all the way from america would they? do they even make them?

not interested in post count i have my 250 dude. thanks for warning though ill delte old posts and copy/paste to new one if you like.

Just sent an email to thermaltake, man that was hard, they have no uk site and cant send a message without a US telephone number. got through to the europe contacts eventually, through tech support, not sure if thats gonna be any good.

think i see what you're saying though it doesnt matter as it uses similar clip to amd but gives it the 4 pins.

yeah any cooler that uses the standard amd clip style fitting should be able to be used with that mounting kit. i have used the socket 775 of that to install an amd clip cooler before and it worked fine.
